Southern Baptists To Hold Retreat The intermediate and young people of Siskiyou Baptist as sociation will hold their an nual retreat at the First Southern Baptist church, 794 Lozier lane, beginning Friday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. Representatives from Ash land, Phoenix, Grants Pass, Crescent City and Prospect as well as the local group will participate. Jess Funk houser. Baptist Student Un ion director for Oregon State university, Corvallis, and Uni versity of Oregon, Eugene, will be guest speaker at the meeting. The Rev. Mack Jones, pas tor of First Baptist church, Klamath Falls, will speak Saturday morning. The group will have a retreat dinner at North's Chuck Wagon at 1 p.m. after which Mr. Funk houser will show slides ut the church of missionary work in the Bahama Islands where he worked as missionary one summer. James Paul Funston will act as master of ceremonies. Mrs. Avis Hobbs is in charge of general arrangements. The Rev. Gilbert Skaar will have "Jesus, Winner of Souls" for his sermon topic at the morning worship hour Sunday. The adult choir, di rected by Dennis Sampels, will sing. At the evening service Mr. Skaar will speak on "Jesus, Giver ef Lite- Tnc yww choir will sing. A nursery is provided for children under the age of four at all services. Missionary Series Planned in O'Brien O'Brien A missionary conference will be held at the First Baptist church of O'Brien starting Feb. 10 with the Rev. Douglas Stave, who will be stationed in India. He will speak at the Sunday morning service. Evening services will fea ture the Rev. George Bow man, who has been in South America for 12 years. Monday, Feb. 11. a mis sionary from northern Japan, Virginia Bowcn, will tell of her tract distribution ministry and a small church in Ishin omaki, Japan where she worked before her furlough to the states. A woman missionary. Miss Alma Kludt, who served in central India has been sched uled for Tuesday. Feb. 12, and the Rev. Kenneth Cumings, a former missionary to Port ugal, will appear at the Wed nesday meeting.
