Richard Kenneay (D-Eugene). "There is a growing trend to phony up the mileage shown on auto speedometers so a buyer is led to believe he is buying a less used car than he is actually purchas ing," Kennedy said. The bill provides that con viction would result in revoca tion of the dealer's certificate. Kennedy said present law forbids the practice, but there are no teeth in the statute.
