Pedestrian Hurt When Hit By Car Alta Pearl Morton, 67, o S06 Beatty st was slightly injured when hit by a car at Beatty st. and Central ave. Friday afternoon, Medford police reported. A car driven by Wayna Faye Fawcett, 2118 Corona ave., Medford, was driving southwest on Beatty st. She stopped at the stop sign at the North Central ave. inter section, looked to the right at the heavy traffic, started to pull out and stopped again and checked the traffic, she told city police. The driver saw the pedes trian on the corner, and drove into the intersection, passing the crosswalk area. Then she saw the pedestrian in front of her car. She bumped the wom an and knocked her down after braking to a stop. Mrs. Morton refused treat ment and was taken home by her brother. No citations were issued. CollUoen - A truck driven by Norman Johnson, Alder wood Manor, Wash., and a car driven by James Albert Rod erick, 4068 South Pacific hwy., collided at 12th st. and River side ave. Saturday morning. No citations were Issued and no Injuries reported, accord ing to Medford police. Bylaws for Flood Control Group Set Eagle Point A set of by laws will be presented Mon day night to residents inter ested in forming a group to seek flood control measures along Litte Butte creek. The meeting, to start at 8 p.m. in the Eagle Point Grade school gym, has been called by a three-man committee ap pointed at an earlier meeting to do preliminary work on forming an organization. Trailers Saved Quick ac tion by the Hornbrook Vol unteer Fire department was credited with extinguishing a potentially serious fire recent ly at a trailer court owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. Ben Phillips at Hornbrook. The fire broke out in a pump house, apparently from an overheated oil stove, accord ing to reports. Convalescing Mrs. Paul Sparks, Prospect, is conval escing at home after major surgery recently at Rogue Valley hospital. Bill DUley will be toast master. Named Controller-William F. Wehrly, Medford, has been appointed as controller of Harry and David Bear Creek Orchards, David H. Holmes, president, announced last week. Pole Burns A burning power pole was reported on the HBrold D. Brecdiove property at 909 South State rd. at about 3 p.m. Saturday, Medford firemen said Breed love was burning off a field of grass when the fire extend ed to a power pole. Medford Han Hurts eg in Accident Ronald Glenn Fipps, 16, o 1251 South Peach St., was re ported in fair condition at Rogue Valley hospital yester day following an accident on Highway 99 south of Med ford. Fipps1 left leg was lacer ated in a collision at 12:35 p.m. yesterday involving his motorcycle and an auto driven by Edna Marie Lullch, 55, of Milo, Ore. The Lulich car, southbound on highway 98, attempted to turn onto Charlotte Ann rd. Bnd collided with the motor cycle, which was northbound.
