Al bert R. Nickodemus, will speak on ''The Birth of Jesus Christ." Christmas Festival To Be Held Tuesday Services at St. Peter's Lu theran church, 1020 East Main St., will begin at 8:15 and 11 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Rev. John E. MEDFORD, Pastor To Sermons on Advent The Congregational church will observe Christmas with services at 11 a.m. Sunday and at 7:30 p.m. on Christmas eve. Both services will be held at Hoover Grade school on Siskiyou blvd. at South Mo doc rd. The school auditorium where the church meets for worship is sufficiently large that only one service has been planned. The children of the church school are invited to attend the opening portion of this service with their par ents before going to their classes for the rest of the hour. The service will include the baptism of children, music by the adult choir and the light ing of the fourth Advent can dle. A Christmas offering will be received for "The Veterans of the Cross," elderly minis ters and the widows of min isters whose pension income insufficient to meet the rising cost of living. The Rev. Robert W. Tull, Methodists To Repeat Christmas Play at Manor Was This the Christ Child is the title of the Christmas play to be presented Sunday at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Methodist church. The play is under the direction of Leslie Boardman. Mrs. Milton Snow and the alter choir of young children will sing between scenes, as will a double quartet from the chancel choir. The presentation will be of fered once again Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Rogue Valley Manor for its members. Dr. George Roseberry will preach at both morning wor ship services Sunday on "Star Out of Orbit." A French carol, "Sing We Noel" will be sung by the youth choir at the 9:30 a.m. service, and the Girl's Ensemble will sing "It Was a Night of Wonder." The chan cel choir will sing "What Is This Lovely Fragrance" and "Today There is Ringing" at 11 a.m. The annual Christmas eve candlelight service of song and worship will be held in the sanctuary at 11 p.m. Mon day. 'Holy Footsteps' To Be Sunday Sermon Ashland At the 11 a.m. service Sunday at the First Methodist church, North Main and Laurel sts., a ,'10-mlnute service of Christmas music will be given with a sermon entitled, "Holy Footsteps." Christmas eve the church's annual family candlelight service will be held at 7:30 p.m. The service will include the singing of carols, the lighting of the last Advent candle, an anthem by the choir, the reading of the Christmas story, and a cere mony of candlclighting. The service is planned so that everyone, from small chil dren to adults, will find it an important part of their Christ mas celebration. Thursday Dec. 27, a snow party is being planned for the seventh and eighth grade young people of the church. Under the leadership of Mr. Tull and John Smock, the group will leave Medford about 10 a.m. for Crater lake. They will return in the late afternoon to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Bullard for a chili supper. give the Christmas message, "The Guiding Star," and will be assisted in the worship service by John Stratford, Pat Longmore, and Mrs. Don ald Stratford. The College Age Fellow ship will hold a progressive dinner Saturday, Dec. 2D, end ing at the church for dessert. All college age students who are in town for the holidays are invited to attend. 'Messiah' To Be Broadcast Sunday The Medford congregation Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Tenth and Ivy sts., will join with more than 1,000 church es in sponsoring the national broadcast of Handel's "Mes siah over radio station KBOY Sunday at 9 p.m.' The choir will be the Inde pendence, Mo., choir, head quarters of the denomination. This will be the 40th annual performance by the 250-voice choir accompanied by mem bers of the Kansas City, Mo., I'nnnarmonlc orchestra. The program is a 1V4 hour rebroadcast of a Nov. 17 per formance at the RLDS church headquarters in Independ ence. 'Incarnation' To Be Subject of Sermon A Christmas message en titled "The Necessity of the Incarnation" will be delivered at 11 a.m. Sunday at Bethel Assembly of God, 122S East McAndrews rd. The Rev. Law rence D. Krause, pastor, will speak. The Sunday school depart ment will give a Christmas program at 7 p.m. De Anna Morgan of the nursery class will give the welcome. Mem bers of the junior, junior high and senior classes will give a poem play, "Where Glory Dwells." All classes of the Sunday school will be represented in recitations and in vocal and instrumental music. The pro gram will be under the direc tion of Mrs. Juanita Hugcman, superintendent. Adults' To Give Christmas Program The adults of Reese Creek Community church will give the play, "Kay's Christmas Vision" Saturday, Dec. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at the church. The play, in a modern set ling, was written by Dlanche M. Collier who is also direct ing the production. Stage ef fects and lighting are by Ken neth Dufour and the Rev. W. H. Collier. Preceding the play a Sun day school program will be presented by the students. Following the play treats will be distributed to the chil dren attending. DECEMBER Nazarenes Plan Pageant, Vesper Service During Christmas Celebration The children and youth de partments of the Sunday school will give their annual Christmas program tonight at 7:30 o clock at the First Church of the Nazarene, S20 North Holly st. Along with several choral numbers presented by the cnlldren, a Christmas pageant under the direction of Mrs. John Finkbeiner will be given.
