So reported Coach George Keil of the Ashland High school basketball squad. He referred to the practice ses sions which have been con ducted since the Grizzlies opened their season. They haven t seen same action for a couple of weeks. The Bruins, however, go back into contention this eve ning. Ashland will play Phoe nix high at 8 o'clock follow ing a 6:30 o'clock junior var sity mix. On Saturday night the same program is billed for the Phoenix high floor. Keil said that the Grizzlies have been working on the overall aspects of the game. Aim is to be ready for their conference opener with Klam ath Falls. In the meantime, the Ashlanders are not over looking their non-loop Fri days this week end with the Pirates and next week with Forluna, Calif. Drills have included work with and against pressing de fense, on zone defense, on re bounding, on out-of-bounds plays, on the fast break and on ball handling and shoot ing. There have been some line up changes since victories two weeks ago against Shasta high of Redding, Calif. Among the current top eight are Rick Pierce, Greg Lindley and Dean Saniuelson, guards; Tod Hess and Dale and Gale Tepper, forwards, and Jim Lamb and Jeff Trosl, post men. Tonight's starting lineup will be picked from among this group. Riverside 772-4101 Hodges Claims Dodgers Should Have Been Shot New York 1ITI1 - Gil Hodges claims his old Los Angeles Dodger teammates "should have been shot" for losing the National league pennant to the San Francisco Giants last season. The .'18-ycar-old first base man, who underwent a suc cessful knee operation at the conclusion of the 19H2 season. discussed his old club at a New York Mets' news confer ence. "I though! the Dodgers were going to win," Hodges said.
