OREGON The TV networks must be getting the holiday spirit, lor more brisht video packages will be offered this week than have been unwrapped in any week recently. Leonard Bernstein will con duct a Young People's Con cert, actress Bette Davis will be singing and dancing on the Andy Williams show, after playing a dramatic role in the "Virginian," stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald and A. J. Cronin will be dramatized on Dick Powell's show and the DuPont show, Lillian Gish will portray a bank-robbing grandmother on the "Defend ers." an angry Paladin im presses a town with the true meaning of Christmas, and Lloyd Bridges' 8-year daugh ter hears angels singing (Mitchell Boys Choir). Special news features on heredity, hurricanes, precinct politics, the Polaris subma rine, a report by President Kennedy, and possibly an in ternational live television broadcast via a communica tions satellite will be high lights of an informational nature. CONCERT HALL, 2 p.m. Sunday KSHA radio. Brahm's "Symphony No. 3 in F Major" and "Variations on a Theme by Haydn;" Dvorak's "Seran arie in D Minor"; and Bizet's "Carmen" and "L'Arlesienne Suites." THREAD OF LIFE, 5 p.m. Sunday KMED-TV. Dr. Frank Baxter is commentator on this Bell System Science Series program which tells the story of human heredity, tracing the development of the sci ence of genetics in relation to plants, to animals and final ly to human beings.- TWENTIETH CENTURY, 6 p.m. Sunday KBES-TV. "Army of the Damned." Tells the story of Andrei Andree vich Vlasov, much-decorated Russian general who was fear ed and hated by both Stalin and Hitler. After his capture by the Germans in World War II, he openly denounced Sta lin and called for the over throw of communism in Rus sia. MEET THE PRESS, 6 p.m. Sunday KMED-TV. McGeorge Bundy, President Kennedy's special assistant for national securily affairs, will be inter viewed. Mr. Bundy has re cently been accused of being the source of information used in the notorious article criti cizing Adlai Stevenson which appeared in Saturday Even ing Post. DISNEY'S WONDERFUL WORLD. 7:30 p.m. Sunday KMED-TV. In "Hurricane Hannah" film clips of some of the most destructive hur ricanes in U. S. history are combined i n documentary fashion to show howe the Navy, Coast Guard and U. S. Weather Bureau cooperate to track a hurricane. POLARIS SUBMARINE. 10 p.m. Wednesday KMED-TV. "Journal of an Undersea Voy age." NBC correspondent Martin Agronsky and a five man news crew spent 16 days aboard the Polaris submarine the U.S.S. George Washing ton and filmed in detail a realistic exercise climaxed by the launching of missiles into the Atlantic Missile Range.
