You'll find that canned ham is really kind to your budeet because it is boneless, waste-free, has just enough fat for flavor. I Many meat men will slice your canned ham in slices one-quarter inch thick and tie it back into shape. Or you can do It yourself. In either case, it does make the ulti mate serving much easier, more attractive, particularly when serving a crowd. We glaze it with fruit like this for showing off, 6 to 12-pound canned ham Whole cloves 1 No. 2Kk can cling peach halves, apricot halves or pear halves 1 tablespoon cornstarch 2 tablespoons vinegar 3 tablespoons prepared mustard cup unsulphured molasses Slice ham in one-quarter slices and tie back into shape, insert cloves in top edge of every other slice. Place m shallow baking pan. Drain peaches or other fruit; meas ure litjuid and, if necessary, add enough water to make l'-a cups. Mix cornstarch and vmegar in a saucepan until smooth. Blend in mustard, peach syrup and molasses; bring to a boil, stirring con stantly. Baste ham with small amount of this sauce. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, planning 10 min utes per pound. Grind together one cup pitted fresh California dates and one-half cup each seedless raisins and currants. Mix in one cup pea nut butter and four table spoons sweetened condensed milk. Turn one pound tenderized prunes into one quart or two pinia ot pfcklcd prunes. Wash one pound tenderized prunes. Stick two whole cloves in each prune. Soak in three cups water for two hours. Add one cup dark brown sugar, one cup vinegar and four three-inch sticks cin namon. Bring to a boil. Sim mer 30-minutos. Chill over night in syrup. Add two cups pecan halves and toast over medium heat seven to eight minutes, stirring constantly. When thoroughly heated, sprinkle with one-quarter teaspoon curry powder; mix. Series of Cases Heard in County Juvenile Court A series of cases were heard in Jackson county juvenile court Friday, Larry Tweedy, juvenile department director, reported. Many of the cases involved truancy and joy riding in stol en ears. A 17-year-old girl was sent home on probation after being consistently truant from high school. A 18-year-old hoy was out of school, living in an apartment, had no job and was reported beyond psresrfsl control. He was placed on pro bation. A 14-year-old boy was re turned to his parenis on pro bation afier being found con sistently truant and "joy rid ing in stolen cars. A 15-year- old boy consislently truant while on probation received a suspended committal to Mc Laren School tor Boys and was returned to his parents under strict rules of proba tion. Refsrred to Commississ A 10-year-old Medtord boy who had been in detention tor 58 days was referred to the Jackson county public wel fare commission for faster home placement. He had been mixed up with another boy In a series ot thefts, Tweedy said, A 15-year-old Ashland hoy was charged with joy riding in stolen cars and went home to his father on probathsa, A case presented by the public welfare commission re sulted in the children being released to relatives. A 10-year-old child was transferred to Douglas county and the ease dismissed. One ease was held over until next Friday io obtain further medical infor mation. Four cases were dis missed after satisfactory com pletion of probation.
