Kroh on September 29, seven of the bride's eight sis ters and her two brothers took part in the wedding cere mony, or the reception which followed, at The First As sembly of God church in Med lord. The bride had been dedi cated in the same church at the age of two weeks. The Rev. Robert E. Cull performed the double ring ceremony at 8 o'clock In the evening. About 250 guests attended. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Don L. Jacobs, Route 4, Box 350-N-2, Medford, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Kroh, Westminster, Calif. Miss Lenore Jacobs was honor attendant for her sister and bridesmaids were Miss Pccgy Jackson, San Fransisco, Miss Joyce Hcnson, and Miss Elizabeth Goodson. Carol Jacobs, another sis ter, was flower girl, and Del bert Jerry Ansures, Rogue River, a nephew of the'bride, carried the rings. E. Escorted By Fathar Mr. Jacobs escorted his daugther to the altar and gave her in marriage. Her satin lace gown was similar to the one worn by Miss America of 1961 when she was chosen during the pageant. It was de signed with a scoop neckline and the long sleeves were trimmed with Chantllly lace. The bodice was fitted and the full skirt was floor length. Her shoulder length veil was held from a crown of pearls and rhinestones. The bride carried a white orchid with stephanotis on a 'small Bible which has belonged to the Ja cobs family since 1860. Her attendants wore gold satin gowns and their golden veils were held by matching gold headbands. The maid of honor carried a bouquet of white gladiolus and the bridesmaids' bouquets were white spider chrysanthemums. The flower girl's dress was of gold crystalline and the candlelighters, Lois Jacobs, a sister of the bride, and Linda Chastain, a niece, wore gold overskirts. Their wristlet cor sages were of white chrysan themums. Bronze and gold gladioli and chrysanthemums decor ated the church and white bows marked the pew ends. Mrs. George Heide was or ganist and Miss Ethel Jacobs. a sister of the bride, furnished a whistling solo. Sisters Serve During the reception Mrs. Alfred Bendickson cut the wedding cake, a gift to the bride and bridegroom from Mrs. Guy Erickson, who had baked and decorated it. Mrs. Don Jacobs Jr., a sister-in-law of the bride, served the punch and Mrs. Wallace Bowen was in charge of gifts. Mrs. Chester Martin. Brem erton, Wash., Mrs. Eldon Chas tain, and Mrs. James Kend rick of Hayward, Calif., sis ters of the brido, served and Miss Deanne Strong registered the guests. Out-of-town guests included Mr. Kendrlck; Mr. and Mrs. John Goodson, and family. Glendale, Ore., and Norman HaBncr, Rcedsport. Ore. The couple made a wedding trip to Yosemite National park enroute to their new home in Westminster, Calif.. where the bridegroom is em ployed In an electronics plant. For traveling the bride wore a grey checkered wool suit with red accessories and her corsaRe was from her wedding bouquet. The bride attended Medford High school, and nursing school in San Francisco. She had been employed as a nurse's aide at Sacred Heart hospital. The bridegroom attended Whittler High school and Ful lcrton Junior college and both the bride and bridegroom at tended Bethany Bible college at Santa Cruz, Calif. (Knackstedt photo) Violinist To Appear Stephen Hero, Forest Hills, N.Y., internationally known violinist, will appear in con cert for the fifth consecutive season at Southern Oregon college Friday, October 26. He will be accompanied for the third time by Bruno Pel legrini, well-known Medford pianist and teacher. Mr. Hero, born In New York City, began the study of violin at the age of five with his father, Simon Hero. He later was a scholarship student of Jacques Thibaud in Paris and St. Jean de Luz. In the United States he contin ued his studies with Louis Pcrsinger and other masters who offered him scholarships were Mischa Elman, Georges Enesco and Carl Flesch. The violinist has appeared as guest artist with over 40 symphonic groups Including Montreal, Toronto and Mexico City. At the age of 12 he was guest soloist with the Warsaw Philharmonic orchestra. The Roxy Ann Home Eco nomics club will meet Wednes day, October 17 at 8 p.m., in the home of Mrs. Kenneth D. Shaw, 2220 Spring street. I Olive Rebekah Lodge To Meet Olive Rebekah lodge will convene Monday, October 15 at 8 p.m., In the Odd Fellows hall. Mrs. Selma V. Watkins, Wasco, Ore., Rebekah assem bly president, made a joint visit to the Olive and Ruth Rebekah lodges when the two lodges met recently in the Jacksonville Odd Fellows hall. Also introduced at that time were Mrs. Riley Appel gate. Central Point, past as sembly president; Mrs. E. W. Pease and Mrs. Ethel Garrett, past presidents of the auxili ary to the Patriarchs Militant, Mrs. Betty Lou Thomas, dis trict deputy president of the Ruth lodge, and Mrs. K. G. Stockoff, district deputy of the Olive Rebekah lodge. The degree staff presented a drill in Mrs. Watkins' honor under direction of Mrs. Mar gery Pearson, staff captain. Mrs. Bess Dyer and her committee served refresh ments from tables decorated in the autumn theme. Ashland - Highlight of t.ie 1962 observance of Business and Professional Women's Club week was the Wednes day evening dinner served in Wesley house to more than 40 members and guests. Honored as the outstanding woman of Ashland BPWC by beinz named Beep of the Week, was Mrs. Viola Squire, a past president and a charter member of the club. The award was announced by Mrs. Lilah Jennings, past year's winner of the title, who re vealed the club's choice and presented the traditional in signia and a corsage of chry santhemums. Mrs. Squire combines a business career as bookkeeper with her family life as the wife of Dr. C. C. Squire, pro fessor of education at South ern Oregon college. She is the mother of two teen-age sons, David, 18, a freshman this year at Oregon Mate univer sity, and 16-year-old Wayne, who Is in high school. She has been active in civic groups and a leader in Parent-Teacher work and last year was nominated for the Ashland Woman of the Year award by the Garden club. According to Mrs. Jennings, her services to the Ashland Business and Profes s 1 o n a 1 Women's club have been many and "beyond the call of duty." Mrs, Frances Gallatin, Jus tice of the peace, was the eve ning's speaker, and Mrs. Nell Faulkner, Medford club's 1962 Beep, was one of the honored guests. Other dinner guests in cluded nine members from Medford and several visitors who are new in the com munity this fall. Similarity of Purpose Likening club work to ad ministration of court justice, Mrs. Gallatin emphasized the similarity of purpose and the opportunities offered in both. She described many of the problems which she faces in rendering fair decisions and told of instances that prove difficult. Mrs. Gallatin said that the Ashland justice court is the largest of its kind in Oregon. In it are handled cases below circuit court level and outside of the municipal jurisdiction. She is also fre quently called upon to per form marriage ceremonies In answer to questions from the audience the speaker re plied that most juvenile cases stem from broken homes or unhealthy environment. She remarked that she has always required modest dress and has refused to admit wearers of shorts and open shirts to ap pear in her court. Mrs. Alice Arnold headed the committee that served the dinner and Dr. Ruth Bebber, club president, presided over the program and later con ducted the business session. Mrs. Eileen Wright introduced the speaker. During the business meet ing at the conclusion of the evening the budget was pre sented by Mrs. Beatrice Lind say and accepted without change. Plans for the fall rummage sale October 19 and 20 were completed and the fund raising projects were discussed. Legislative Program November 7 Mrs. Jennings and Dr. Phyllis Butler will be in charge of the program on legislation. The club theme centers about opening doors to opportunity, to knowledge and to new friends. The na tional program is based upon "Leadership, a Dimension in Democracy," encomp a s s i n g the fields of career and busi ness for women in community and nation. Special emphasis is placed upon training of young women and encourag ing them in their choice of life work. The Ashland club has as one of its projects recognition of the outstanding high school senior girl of each six-weeks term and at the close of the year presentation of a govern ment bond to the Girl of the Year. 1 Set Dinner Meeting Oregon chapter, Royal Arch Masons and Royal Arch Wid ows will meet for a potlucK dinner Tuesday, October 16 at 6:30 p.m., in the Jackson ville Masonic temple. All Royal Arch Masons and their wives are invited. The committee for the eve ning will be Mrs. Albert Grif fin, Mrs. Donald Wendt, Mrs. Minnie Offenbacher and Mrs. Fred Offenbacher. Navy Mothers Club Schedules Luncheon A noon potluck luncheon will be served by Navy Moth ers club women when they meet Tuesday, October 16 at the home of Mrs. C. R. Alex ander, 110 Almond street.
