Lowry and Jerry McGrew. local AO! i directors, of Associated Fruit company and McGrew Broth I ers Sawmills. Inc.. respective I l.v They will join two AOI staff members. General Man ager Ivan Congleton and Le gal Counsel Thomas C. Don aca. for' AOI's annual Jackson county "area meeting" pro gram. The all-new program fea tures more than three dozen colored slides, and will cover not only the various prob lems, but also AOI's proposed solutions. Areas of discussion include Oregon's estimated budget and revenue require ments for the coining bien nium, including analyses of a sales tax, broad-based income lax, and a cigarette tax. Other Subjects PI her subjects to be pre sented are problems in Unem ployment Compensation and Workmen's C o m p e nsalion, followed by AOI's suggested remedies. Other important issues to be covered in AOI's Medford meeting will include the pro posed Constitutional revision and "ainti-strikebreaker" leg islation. A portion of the pro gram will be devoted to Bal lot Measure No. D, the Legis ative Reapportionment pro posal, which AOI has strongly endorsed. Associated Oregon Indus tries is a statewide organiza tion with more than 850 busi ness, Industrial and retail firms, large and small, whose combined employment totals more than one-third of Ore gon's labor force. The meeting is open to ttis public, and all interested persons are welcome to at tend. AOI will present a similar luncheon program Tuesday, Oct. 23, al the Medford Ro tary club meeting.
