Past Master Raymond Frantz presided in place of vacationing Master Cassie Golding. News members, Mr. and Mrs. Tricky, were obligated in the first and second de grees. Carl Christenson, agricul ture chairman, spoke about the size and value of this year's pear and peach crop. Legislative Chairman Jessie Frantz discussed new legisla tion now being considered. Bills concerning aid to youth, equal wages for women, and a cost of living increase for Veterans receiving disability pensions were mentioned spe cifically. HEC Chairman Edith Os borne announced that the next HEC meeting plans concern ing a harvest dinner will be discussed. Mr. Carnevale, a new mem ber, suggested a new slogan for Oregon "Keep Oregon Green and Clean." He urged that people with junky yards or storage places, clean them up and the whole community will be improved. DIRECTOR APPOINTED Monmouth (UPIl- Donald S. Mayo has been appointed as director of information at Ore gon College of Education, it was announced today by Leon ard W. Rice, president of the school.
