Frost, Lewis street, were honored on their fiftieth wed ding anniversary at a recep tion at the Girls Community flub July 30. . Prior to the reception the couple reaffirmed their mar riage vows with the Rev. Xoyce Carver, pastor of Apos tolic Faith church officiating. The Rev. Mr. Frost, retired .minister, was pastor of the .Medford church for 35 years. . Mrs. Frost wore a while '-and pink dress with matching accessories and orchid cor dage. Participating with them :in the service were Mr. and ;Mrs. Lester Schlcigh, long time friends of the couple. .- Billy Hanlin, Portland, and "Jerry Frost, Grants Pass, -;grandsons of the honored 'couple, were candlelighlcrs ;and organist was Miss Bar bara Hanlin, Portland, a "granddaughter. The couple's "three children were soloists, JUrs. Robert Hanlin, Portland; Mrs. James Williams, Yaki- ;ma., and Melvin Frost, Grants pass. Ushers were the Rev. Mr. Williams and the Rev. Mrs. .Hanlin, sons-in-law of the cou "ple. ' Assisting with the reception .were Mr. and Mrs. Donald -McKay and Mrs. Melvin Frost. Cutting and serving the anniversary cake were Mrs. Wilbur Hunt, Mrs. Carver, Mrs. Chester Brown and Mrs. William W. Wilhrow. The cake was baked and decorated by Mrs. Hunt. ' Mrs. Norma Wallace and .Mrs. Wilmcr Wallace, Med ,ford, presided at the punch liowls and Mrs. Sadie Pizer, '.Grants Pass, and Mrs. Bessie flyers poured coffee. . Singing during the recep tion were Duane Jones, Mrs. Dan Ekelund, Portland; Herb ert Girard, Grants Pass. Mrs. Ray Robinson, Mrs. Bessie Burchficld and Mrs. Noland Roby. Some 250 persons attended the event. The couple was pre sented with a gold money tree. Mr. and Mrs. Frost were married in the old Thompson home on Granite street in Ashland. They traveled to Doris, Calif, by horse and wagon on their wedding trip. This fall Mr. and Mrs. Frost, accompanied by their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Frost, Grants Pass, will sail from San Fran cisco aboard the USS Flying Enterprise of the Isbrantsen Lines for a round-the-world trip. Among the numerous places to be visited by the two couples will be Apostolic Faith missions in the Domini can Republic, Haiti. Bombay, India, and Japan. They plan to return to the United States about February 1. Ashland BPW Club Meeting Slated Ashland Members of Busi ness and Professional Wom en's club will meet Wednes day evening in the garden of Mrs. Viola Sriuire's home, 1167 South Tolman Creek road, for an ouldoor picnic. Following the 6:30 p.m., dinner there will be an in formal meeting to discuss plans for the year's programs and to hear a report on the national convention held last Tionth in Los Angeles. Sundays 10 A.M. -9 Nine Jackson county 4-H girls will compete in contests at Oregon Stale Fair because of winning in their divisions at the county contests and demonstrations week. They will receive expense-paid trips to the fair which begins Au gust 31 in Salem. The winners were Georgia Hubbard, Antelope, senior dollar dinner and canning; Marsha Wilson, Central Point, junior dollar dinner; Carol Foote, Central Point, senior individual demonstration: Amy Jo Helm, Sis-Q, and Marsha Wilson, Central Point, junior individual demonstration. Darleno Thompson and Shirley Roach, Central Point, senior team demonstration; Gloria Meyer, Antelope, cake baking; Carolcc Kuesl, Cen tral Point, senior bread bak ing; and Sue Cornutt, Central Point, junior bread baking. Karen .lossy, Antelope, and Dariene Thompson, Shirley Roach, Marsha Wilson, all of Central Poini, received co ordinated milk sales awards for dairy foods demonstra tions. Miss Wilson will also tivity center, Monday, August 6, to the Arm Chair Travelers. The .trip will cover a visit to Niagara Falls, a trip down the St. Lawrence river with stops at several Canadian cities including Ottowa and Quebec, and parts of the New England stales. Other pictures include a trip along the Hud son with a visit to Hyde park and the President Roosevelt home and memorial and a tour through the Adirondack mountains during the fall. The showing starts at 1 p.m. Monday at 10 a.m. the Sen ior Craftsman committee will receive and register seniors in terested in taking part in the Senior Craftsman of Oregon branch which is open at the Ashland Art Gallery, 31 Water street, Ashland. The committee ha. decided to meet one day each week, on Mondays from 10 to 12 noon to allow other craftsmen to take advantage of this op portunity to show and sell their hand crafted gift ar ticles. Any person interested who cannot get to the center on Monday should call the center at that time and make special arrangements. Bob Onstad, owner of the Ashland Gallery, reported to the artist jury last Wednesday, that the number of visitors work, copper and silver jewel ry, glass mosaic and tile work, and ceramics. The gallery is open to the public from 1 p.m. into the late evening. Activities continue this week at the center, 601 East Jackson street, for all persons more than 50 years of age. Tuesdays the art class meets from 1 to 3 p.m. with Mrs. Wanda Williams, teacher and Wednesdays from 10 to noon the copper tooling class is taught by Mrs. Ethel Byers.
