SUNDAY. JULY S2. 19fcJ C 5 Air Force Couple Wed In Texas Rites A wedding of interest to valley residents was held at Ft. Worth, Texas, when Miss Naomi Carter, daughter of Convention Held In Washington the University of Oregon. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Niedermeyer, Old Stage road. Sen. Margaret Chase Smith, Massachusetts, a member of the sorority, spoke at the Pan- hellenic banquet. Dr. Wilson H. Elkins, president of the University of Maryland, was speaker at the scholarship din ner. Miss Niedermeyer and oth er college delegates toured New York City and the area before returning to their homes. Sigma Kappa members In the Rogue valley will be giv en a report of the convention during the August meeting. Miss Nancy Niedermeyer and Mrs. Jack Pfeifer, both Medford attended the sixty first national convention of Sigma Kappa social sorority in Washington. DC, recently. Mrs. Pfeifer is province presi dent of the organization, and Miss Niedermeyer is president of the Sigma Kappa house at Mrs. Muriel A. Carter, 313' Maple street, Medford and the j the late James M. The bride is a daughter of the late Mr nd Mrs. Sam Ekmanian. and the bridesroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Smilh, 1408 Siskiyou boulevard, Med lord. The Rev. Mark McCallum read the double ring rites at 11 a.m. in the All Saints Epis copal church. About 100 guests attended. White chrysanthemums and Shasta daisies decorated the church altar. The bride chose a street length gown fashioned with Chantilly lace bodice, elbow length sleeves, and bell skirt of silk peau de soie. Her pill box hat held an imported French illusion veil of shoulder length, and she carried white roses and stephanntis. Hpr cul tured pparl earrings wore a gift of the hrideernom. Daniel Ozark, Omaha, Neb., gave the bririp in marriage. Miss Diane Bmsseau, Al hsmbra, Calif., attended the bride. Her sheath frock in Copenhagen blup was of silk organza over taffeta. She car ried pink rosebuds In an old fashioned bouquet. Joseph Altobelli, Detroit, Mich., was best man. For the wedding and the re ception which followed in the parish hall of the church the bridegroom's mother wore a blue and white brocaded sheath dress with jacket, and a while orchid corsace. Mr. and Mrs. Smilh were hosts for the wedding recep tion. They also gave a re hearsal parly at the Diplomat hotel in Omaha. After the reepption, the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team gave a wedding dinner at Angeloe's restaurant in Omaha. For a wedding trip to Den ver, Colo., the bride wore a black and white linen sheath frock with white patent acces sories. The couple is at home in Omaha until mid-September when they will move to Los Angeles. The bride attended Dorsey High school. Lns Angeles, and El Camino Junior college. She is employed as secretary to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Inc. Mr. Smith altenried Glide High school and Orecon State university. He is employed as a professional baseball player by the Dodgers. Former Residents Visit in Prospect Prospect Mr. and Mrs. William McElmurry and chil dren, Chiloquin, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Sar gant. The McElmurry family are former residents of Prospect. Jr. Thp bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. August R. Steimle, Mountainside, N. J. Justice of the Peace John Whitboy officiated at the dou ble ring ceremnnv held June 2. The bride wore a white bal lerina length frock fashioned with scoop neckline and short sleeves and a bow accented the waist. Her short veil was held by a white hat and her flowers were red roses. Mrs. Edward Hykson, Ft. Worth, was matron of honor. She wore a tan linen suit with lavender accessories. Master Sergeant Pierce. Ft. Worth, served as best man. Following the ceremony a Mrs. A. Yreka Methodist Scene Of Lewellyn -Solus Wedding Yreka - An afternoon cere mony at Yreka Methodist church was held July 8 when Miss Terrill Lynne Solus be came the bride of Leslie Lee Lewellyn. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stan ford G. Solus, Yreka. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Lewellyn of Gre nada, Calif., are the bride groom's parents. The Rev. Harold Coleman officiated at the four o'clock wedding. Baskets of white gladioli decorated the church for the double ring ceremo ny. Mrs. Jennifer Moore was organist. Given In marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of white lace over taffeta fashioned with fitted bodice, scalloped neck line accented with rhinestones and pearls, short sleeves and pleated skirt. She also carried a handkerchief that was more than one hundred years old. Mrs. Delbert Shaffer, sis ter of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. She wore a green brocade sheath dress with white carnation head dress and white and green ac cessories. The bridesmaids were Miss Jean Meambpr, Miss Carole Archamhault and Miss Charlcnp McCarlny. They wore pink hrocade sheath dresses with matching shoes and while carnation headdresses. ' Little Deanne Shaffer was flower girl. Sh wore a pink organdy frock with white par- nation headdress Bnd carried a basket of rose petals. Her sister, Delona, in a green frock, passed bags of rice. Delbert Shaffer served as best man for his brother-in- law. Ushers were Kermith Wheeler and Darryl and Dar win Solus, brothers of the bride. A garden reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dunham, 520 North Oregon street, following the ceremony. Miss Shirley House and Miss Billie Carole Brahs served the cake and punch. Assisting with the serving were Mrs. John Harding and Mrs. Richard Sanders. Miss Nina Green was in charge of the guest book. Mrs. Solus wore a blue lace shealh with matching jacket and while accessories for her daughter's wedding and reception. Mrs. Lewellyn wore a beige print silk sheath with matching jacket and ac cpssorips. Their corsages were gardenias. For traveling to Ft. Camp bell, Ky where the bride groom is stationed with the 10 Airborne division of the U. S. Army paratroopers, the bride wore a white linen sheath dress with white ac cessories and the orchid from her bridal bouquet. The bride is a graduate of Yreka High school.
