Music" Music 'Music IMuslc Police Clear 97.2 Per Cent of Cases Mcdford police cleared 97.2 per cent of its cases during June, according lo monthly statistics reported from the de partmcnt. Of the 2,892 complaints re ceived, 2,712 wcr cleared. This compares to 96.1 per cent of the cases cleared by the de partment during the same month in 1961. The number of complaints received In June, 1D62, was up 370 from the same month in 1961. In major offenses, 26 burg laries were reported, with 16 cleared. A total of 111 major offenses were reported last month compared to 84 in June, 1961. A total of 39 were cleared, for a percentage of 35.1. During the month, 3,443 parking violation c 1 1 a t i o ns i were issued. A total of $66,867 in savings bonds were sold in Jackson county during June, boosting the total for 1962 to $496,987. This compares to $435,557 in bonds sold during a compara ble period last year. In Josephine county, $29, 186 in bonds were sold 'last month; the total sales through June 30 for 1962 is $223,258. In 1061, $161,432 worth of bonds were sold during the first six months. County chairmen for U.S. savings bonds are Morris B. Leonard Sr., Jackson county, and Gene L. Brown in Jose phine county. During June, the 1962 drive was supported by citizens In the state who bought $2,807,- 563 worth of Series E and H savings bonds, compared to sales for June of last year which reached $2,469,144, a gain of 13.5 per cent. This was the best June since 1956. In Oregon during the Free dom Bond drive residents re versed the sales picture. Sales had been 17 per cent lower in March and April than they were for those months a year ago. In May and June, the pe riod of the drive, the sales jumped to a total of 10.6 per cent higher than a year ago.
