The name of the gallery was Inspired by the many trees In Oregon, Mis. Briggs said. The gullcry is furnished with tree slumps, which will serve as seals and as drawing props. They will also be used as po diuins. when needed. In addition to the regular showings of the gallary. cul tural hours will be held, Mrs. BriKK-i mentioned. During those times, actors and read ers will be invited to perform between 3 and 4" p.m. On Tuesday, Thursday, and Sat urday, the performers will have Hie opportunity to get ''on tile slump" to recite. Canadians Visit Relatives Here Mr. and Mrs. Tyne Bish and their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bish, of Forest Berg. Alberta, Canada, arrived in Medford Wednes day night to visit relatives. The travelers are visiting Mrs. Tyne Bish's sisters and brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mis. Harry Barneburg, 1297 Sunset avenue, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson and family, 803 Pine street, Medlord. The visitors have recently visited the Seattle World's (Fair, and Wednesday spent a ; day at Crater Lake National park. They arrived at the lake just in time to find It snow ing hard. Glutsch, Wl Valley View drive, became the bride of Ralph Blanchard Preston, San Jose, Calif., Saturday, July 7 Mr. Treston is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Pres ton. The Rev. Katharine Bos worth read the double ring ceremony in the Unity church here. About 50 guests attend ed the two o'clock afternoon riles. Baskets of nink and white gladioli and stock decorated the. church. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. She wore Marriage Announced Ashland - Of interest to valley residents Is the mar riage of Miss Mary Ann Mc Cartney to Harvey R. Wei man, Montague, Calif., which took place in Virginia City, Nev., June 20. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Leslie M. Mc Cartney, 801 East Main street, Ashland, and the parents of the bridegroom are Mrs. John Fraclich, Montague, and Ar thur Weiman, San Francisco, Calif. Edward J. Colletti, Justice of the peace, performed the ceremony. Attending the couple were Miss Dorothy Obesles and Ce cil Morrison. For their wedding trip the couple traveled to Sacramen to, Calif., where they visited Mr. and Mrs, Tim McCartney. The bride attended Ashland High school, and the bride groom attended Hollywood High school In Los Angeles. They are making their home in Montague, where the groom Is employed by the Yreka Mill. Showers, Parties Given for Couple Before Marriage Jacksonville-Several show ers and parlies honored Miss Marsha Minshall and Duane Franklin before their wed ding, which took place Thurs day, July 12. Miss Minshall is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Minshall, 808 Sterling road, Jacksonville, and Mr. Franklin is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Franklin, 1470 Kings highway, Medford. A patio party was given Monday, July 9, at the Min shall home. The party hon ored the bride-elect, and at tendants and friends assisting at the wedding were guests. It was given by Mrs. Minshall, assisted by Mrs. Verne Wil son. Attending were Mrs. Wal lace Peabody, Mrs. J. C. Weter, Miss Jeanene James, Miss Dorothy Minshall, sister of the bride-elect. Mrs. Hor ace Doolen. Mrs. Dale Frank lin, and Mrs. Goldie Gold tliarp. Miss Minshall was also hon ored at two showers before her wedding. The first was given by Miss Marion Par sons and her mother, Mrs. Lloyd Parsons, at their home, 2329 Fast Main street. The second was given by Miss Marlys Franklin at (lie Franklin home. A surprise dinner and show er was given for Duane Franklin by Mr. and Mrs. Verne Wilson at their home, 1558 South Ivy street, before the wedding. Gifts were ar ticles for home repair, camp ing, and car upkeep. Many Visitors At Medford Home Several friends and rela tives have been guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry J. Fit.patrick, 2212 Buenn Vista drive, dur ing the past three weeks. Mr. Hnd Mrs. Harold Horn and son Nickolas, Salt Lake City, Utah, were here for several days, and Mr. and Mrs. Her man Milliman and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Bogart, Los An geles, stopped on their way to Victoria, B C. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence White and children, Schuyler. Neb., were houseguests for a week. Mrs. White is Mrs. Kit k patrick's niece. Mr. and Mrs Van Locker andn daughter Kvon, and Mrs Glenn Smith and her three sons, Glenn, Edward, and Ron ald spent a week with the Fiupalricks. 1 . To Graduate Rogue River Mrs Jack (Donna) Maidman. daughter of Mr. and Mrs Donald W. Neilson. Rogue River, will be graduated from St. Luke's hospital school of nursing in San Francisco July 27. Mrs. Maidman is the wife of Dr. Jack Maidman. New York She was graduated from Hamilton High school, and has studied at the Episcopal alttliaied San Francisco school for three ears. a street-length gown of silk organza, fashioned with full three-quarter length sleeves and full skirt. The dress was accented with bands of lace. Her short veil was held by a petal headdress, and she car ried a bouquet of white car nations and pink roses. Mrs. Kenneth Durham was matron of honor. Her frock was of yellow nylon chiffon, designed with full skirt, and I she wore a yellow flower hat. : Her waist corsage was of ! white and yellow daisies, j Robert D'Amato, San Jose, j served as best man. Seating the guests were William G. Thompson, a cousin ol the bride, and Walter Knight. Racaption Given Following the ceremony a reception was given at the church. Mrs. J. C. Smock, Lake Oswego, and Mrs. Wil liam F. Jansen, aunts of the bride, cut and served the wed ding cake. Mrs. Carl G. Schneider, Salem, served punch, and Mrs. C. Lester Newman, Salem, poured cof fee. Dr. and Mrs. Glutsch were hosts for a buffet dinner at their home for out of town guests, relatives and members of the wedding party after the reception. The bride attended Wil lamette university and South ern Oregon college. Before her marriage she was employ ed by Dr. Joseph Sage, Palm Springs, Calif. The bridegroom attended Eastern schools, and is em ployed by F. L. Dinapoli, San Jose, as a chief pilot. The couple will live at 412 Vcrment street, San Jose.
