Bedford's Cokes Bill Grants Pass American Legion Junior baseball enters the second half of contention on Wednes day in the southern division of Area 4. And. Medford and Grants Pass do the honors. They meet at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial field, White City. Medford's Cokes return to the VA diamond after a week's layoff from game ac tivity. This will be their sec ond loop meeting with Grants Pass. At GP early in the month, Medford took a count ing game 2 to 1 and a kings-x second ruckus 5 to 1. This contest will give Med ford, now 3-1 and tied with Central Point, an opportunity to reassume first place alone in the circuit. By the same token, the Climate city team has the chance to pull the Cokes into a knot for second spot. Grants Pass is 2-2 and deadlocked with the Klamath Falls Falcons for third. Beat Falcons Grants Pass showed itself a team to be considered in the race by beating the Fal cons last Saturday. Workers are badly needed next week end to construct bleachers and to continue the work that has already been started on the field. Lumber for the bleachers has been donated by a civic-minded local citizen. Manager of the Little League is George Smith, and Ike Dooley is the coach. The Stars got three runs in the second inning on four walks, a hit batter and a field er s choice. Four-Run Inning A four-run first inning and a three-run third gave the Rams a big margin. Snow I4i and Bratton. Trail Shoot Slated By Savago Archers Savage Archers will hold , their second trail sV June 30 and July 1 at Lake of the Woods. The event is open to all archers interested and bow men will shoot at approxi mately 75 targets which are hand-painted and depict ani mals native to the Pacific northwest in life size. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday with groups to be sent out immediately for competition. Ribbons will be awarded for one-day com petition and trophies will go in all classes for the two-day rivalry. The tourney offers a three fold opportunity. It is said by the sponsors to be the only trial shoot in Oregon which gives archers a chance to have two days of enjoyment in a simulated game hunt. It will help the bowmen tune for the hunting season two months from now. And, it will prep participants for the Oregon Broad Hunters state field championship tourney at Grants Pass on July 7 and 8. Savage Archers stated that there will be ample space for trailers and tents of trail shoot entrants on the coming week end. Shoot location is the same as last year.
