Miss Barbara Gor don escorted Miss Buonocore to the circle of past honored queens, where she welcomed her and presented her with a past honored queen's tiara. Refreshments were served in the dining hall under the direction of Mrs. Raymond Reter and Mrs. Selby. Mrs. Virgil Gn'bbe Speaks for Circle Gold Hill - Mrs. Virgil Gribble was guest speaker at the last meeting of Golden Circle Women's group of Gold Hill Christian church. She spoke of the mutual benefit gained by maintaining a close relationship with missionaries. Mrs. Galin Jordan was hostess for the group at her home in Jacksonville. She served a buffet luncheon to 16 guests. Names for secret pals were exchanged among members of the group. "Al oha" was hung In the cast and coconut palms, ferns and flowers were used to deco rate the ceremonial hall and a grass hut framed its en trance. Fish nets with glass floaters hung from the ceil ing and covered flic walls of Hie dining hall, and In one corner was tropical garden with waterfall. A thatched awning was erected over the queen's table on which was centered her cake of laven der and while decorated with miniature t ah" irees and huta dancers. Christian Union To Hold Meeting Mrs. Arthur Monroe will speak on missions at a meet ing of the Womans Christian Temperance Union to be held Thursday, June 21 at 1:30 p.m. in the Fireplace room of First Presbyterian church. Mrs. George Breece will give devotions. Mrs. Hannah Smith will give the lesson, and refresh ments will be served during the social hour. Members are asked to take flowers to the meeting as June is mission and flower month. The flowers will be distributed to sick and shut in friends. Betty Crocker coupons are to be turned in at this meeting; they will be sent to the Childrens Farm Home to help in securing silverware for the new chapel. The first ses sion will start Sunday, July 8, and end Sunday, July 15, and will be for Brownie Scouts. A new activity this year will be horse-back riding, with horses from Wilhelm's tables at Lake of the Woods. The stable has a string of well trained trail horses and the Scout camp is offering camp ers a trail ride in the Rain bow Creek area. Plans also include an overnight ride to High Meadows, with campers taking food for dinner and breakfast, and returning after breakfast. H a y r i d e s and breakfast rides are also plan ned, according to Mrs. Lucile Russell, camp director. Mrs. Russell is also executive di rector of the Rogue Valley council. Water front director this year is Miss Jan et Nelson. Three intermediate camp sessions are scheduled, with the second session starting Sunday, July 29 to Sunday, August 5, fully registered. The other Intermediate ses sions are July 15 to 28, and August 5 to 12. Two Pioneer unit camps are scheduled with the first from Sunday, July 15 to July 28, and the second from July 29 to August 11. Pioneer units do a more primitive type of camping, and girls usually do their own food preparation. Two program aid sessions will be held, of 10 days each. Inc., 437 Fifth Avenue, New York J Scout Camp August 11. Two counsellor-in. training units are scheduled, with the first session for girls entering the eleventh grada to be July 8 to 25. The second session will be for girls en tering the twelfth grade, and will be from July 25 until August 11. Twelfth grade girls can take both session consecutively if they desire. Also available this year for the first time will be an opportunity for parents to have lunch at the camp when they come to take the camp ers home. Parents are to pick; up their children by 1 p.m. on the last Sunday of their ses sion. In the morning there will be a family entertain ment, and then lunch. Mrs. Russell stated that those campers who desire more information on the horse-back riding or any other phase of the camp schedule should call the Girl Scout of fice at 772-5912.
