Plans are being completed
for the 1962 camping season
at the Girl Scout Establish
ed camp, Low Echo, at Lake
of the Woods. The first ses
sion will start Sunday, July
8, and end Sunday, July 15,
and will be for Brownie
Scouts.
A new activity this year
will be horse-back riding,
with horses from Wilhelm's
tables at Lake of the Woods.
The stable has a string of well
trained trail horses and the
Scout camp is offering camp
ers a trail ride in the Rain
bow Creek area. Plans also
include an overnight ride to
High Meadows, with campers
taking food for dinner and
breakfast, and returning after
breakfast. H a y r i d e s and
breakfast rides are also plan
ned, according to Mrs. Lucile
Russell, camp director. Mrs.
Russell is also executive di
rector of the Rogue Valley
council.

Three intermediate camp
sessions are scheduled, with
the second session starting
Sunday, July 29 to Sunday,
August 5, fully registered.
The other Intermediate ses
sions are July 15 to 28, and
August 5 to 12. Two Pioneer
unit camps are scheduled
with the first from Sunday,
July 15 to July 28, and the
second from July 29 to August
11. Pioneer units do a more
primitive type of camping,
and girls usually do their
own food preparation.
Two program aid sessions
will be held, of 10 days each.

Scout Camp
August 11. Two counsellor-in.
training units are scheduled,
with the first session for girls
entering the eleventh grada
to be July 8 to 25. The second
session will be for girls en
tering the twelfth grade, and
will be from July 25 until
August 11. Twelfth grade
girls can take both session
consecutively if they desire.
Also available this year
for the first time will be an
opportunity for parents to
have lunch at the camp when
they come to take the camp
ers home. Parents are to pick;
up their children by 1 p.m. on
the last Sunday of their ses
sion. In the morning there
will be a family entertain
ment, and then lunch.

those campers who desire
more information on the
horse-back riding or any other
phase of the camp schedule
