MAY B. 1962 C 3 Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Moeller (Landis photo) Bride Honored At Shower Party Mrs. Patrick McCoy was honored at a wedding shower Tuesday, May 1. at the home of Mrs. C. R. Schmidt, 250 Janney lane. Cohostess was Mrs. Ralph B. Matthews. Mrs. McCoy is the former Lynn Ann Latham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald La tham, 815 Park street. Some two dozen friends and relatives attended the event. After a game was played, gifts were opened and refresh ments were served. Ashland - Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Lupton, 473 Euclid avenue, returned home last week after a six-weeks vacation in Flor ida and on the Atlantic coast. They spent some time in New York City and also visited Ni agara Falls. Medford Woman Named Director Mrs. Glen V. Allen, 951 South Stage road, was elect ed a director of the Oregon Home Economics Extension council at a meeting in Cor vallis May 3. Mrs. Allen will serve until 1964 to fill out the unexpired term in office to which she had been appointed last August. Of the some 750 homemak ers registered for the confer ence 53 were from Jackson county, 29 from Josephine and 13 from Klamath. "Home the Foundation of Citizen ship" was the theme. It was reported that more than 22, 000 homemakers in the state are actively participating in informal cooperative exten sion sponsored study groups. The bride is the former Mis Wanda Marie Kapuscin ski, daughter of Mrs. Gabri elle Kapuscinski, Cottage Grove, and Joseph Kapuscin ski of Corvallis. The wedding was perform ed at 2 o'clock in the after noon, April 28 in the Medford Sacred Heart Catholic church. The Rev. John A. Ilg cele brated the rites in the pres ence of about 75 guests. Mr. Kapuscinski escorted his daughter to the altar. Miss Carol Kapuscinski of Corvallis, a sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Henry Moeller, brother of the bride groom, served as best man. Ushers were Charles Culy, a brother-in-law of the bride groom, and Fred Rauch. Hood River, a fraternity brother of the bridegroom. The bride's floor length gown was of white lace and net over taffeta and her veil was held by a pearl crown. Her bouquet was a white or chid with carnations, which she carried on a white prayer book given to her by Mrs. Lorenz Malavasi, an aunt of the bridegroom. The maid of honor wore a waltz length gown of yellow net over satin and a matching yellow hat. Her bouquet was of yellow carnations. The church was decorated with carnations and stephano tis, and Easter lilies. Bruno Pellegrini furnished the wedding music. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Kapuscinski wore a beige linen suit with white acces sories. Her corsage white carnations. The bridegroom's mother chose a pale blue pure silk dress with pink and white ac cessories and her corsage was of pink carnations. The reception, given by I he bridegroom's parents, was held in the American Legion hall. The wedding cake was serv- 1 ed by sisters of the bride groom, Mrs. Culy; and Mrs. Kenneth Kitchen of Klamath Falls. At the punch bowl were Miss Pearl Kapuscinski, Alba- Susan Kapuscinski, and charge of gifts was Miss Edith Kapuscinski, both of Corval lis. and both sisters of the bride. The bride is a 1960 Corval lis High school graduate and is a sophomore majoring in education at Oregon State uni versity. She also is employed as a secreiary for Bartley and Starns, certified public ac countants, and is affiliated with Jameson house, a girls' cooperative. The bridegroom was gradu ated from Medford High i school in 1952 and from Ore I gon State university in 1956. He is employed in the horti cultural field, and is a mem ber of Chi Phi fraternity. For her wedding trip the bride chose a brown and white checked linen sheath dress with matching coal. The couple's home is at 1215 Van Burcn street in Cor vallis. Medford Club To Host Group The Medford Sojourner club will entertain the Klam ath Falls Sojourners at a luncheon and card party Thursday, May 10, at 12:30 p.m. in the Girls Community club. Reservations may be made by calling Mrs. Clifton Green, SPring 3-7084 or Mrs. Earl Malbourn, SPring 2-8048. not later than Tuesday, May 8. Any woman who has lived in Medford and vicinity for less than two years is invited to attend and become a mem ber of the club. The require- was ofjmcnt for membership is at tendance at three out of four successive meetings. This is a social club organized with the purpose of helping new comers in this area to become acquainted. Father Visits Ashland - Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arlo M. Miller. 735 Leonard St., is Mrs. Miller's 80-year-old fath er, B. W. Anderson, who took his first plane ride when he , flew from his home in Ana heim, Calif., last week. Mr. and Mn. C. William Kell Kell-lllingworth Rites Held in Gold Hill Home Gold Hill - Miss D a n n a Lynn Illingworth became the bride of C. William Kcll in a ceremony held Sunday, April 21 in the home of the bride groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Clyde Kcll, Gold Hill. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Il lingworth, Medford. A friend of the bridegroom, the Rev. O. L. Kendal, a re tired Methodist minister, of ficiated at the single-ring 7:30 o'clock evening ceremony at tended by 15 close relatives of the couple. For the ceremony the room was decorated in the wedding color theme of blue and white. Setting for the wedding was an arch decorated with white wedding belis and white streamers that were held in place by small bou quets of blue and white dais ies. A white milk glass bowl held pastel shades of sweet peas with an arrangement of blue that gave the effect of a water fall to complete the decor. The bride, given in mar riage by her father, wore a fitted suit of white shantung fashioned with a round neck line and elbow length sleeves. Her hat was an open crown pill box styled of white veil ing and her corsage was blue carnations. She wore a while pearl necklace with matching ear rings, and bracelet and white accesso-ies. Miss Shirley Hell, only sis ter of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. She wore a frock of pastel green fashion ed with round neckline, puffed elbow length sleeves trimmed with white lace, and white accessories. Best man was Ronald Laws, Rogue River, cousin of the bridegroom who came from Oregon Technical Institute at Klamath Falls for the rites. A reception followed the ceremony. The bride's table was centered with a wedding cake flanked with blue tapers in crystal holders. Mrs. Ern est H. Cooper, Gold Hill, cut and served the cake and Miss Delorcs Cooper, Gold Hill, poured coffee. Muss Elizabeth Ann Laws, Rogue River, cous in of the bridegroom, took charge of the guest book, and Virginia Illingworth, seven- year-old sister of the bride, assisted ai the gift table. Mrs. Cooper assisted with decora tions for the wedding. The wedding cake was dec orated by the bride's father. For her daughter's wed ding and reception, Mrs. Il lingworth selected a coral knit suit with white acces sories; the bridegroom's moth er wore a brown suit dress with while accessories. Coming from a distance for their granddaughter's wed ding and reception were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Martcnscn, Tillamook, Ore. Also among the guests were the bride groom's maternal grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Force and his paternal grandfather, Charles Kcll, all Gold Hill. The bride has resided in southern Oregon nearly 2 years and attended Phoenix High school. The bridegroom, a member of a longtime Gold Hill family, has resided here all of his life. He attended St. Mary's High school at Medford and Crater High school at Central Point MusicTan Visits Here Miss Norma Lyon, OCoos Bay, is visiting in the valley at the home of Mr. and Mrs Earle Fichtner, 2547 Corona avenue, Medford. Miss Lyon, a native Orcgonian, is a com poser, pianist and teacher and j is recognized throughout the northwest for her accomplish ments in music. She also is the illustrator for the Paul Bunyan books. The visitor has appeared as guest pianist with the Port land Chamber orchestra under the direction of Dr. Boris Sir po, when she played her own compositions which she had orchestrated for the chamber group. Her books of instructional music are published by the Belwin company in New York. Two of her musical com positions, "Sea Sketches," and "The Dune Suite," were in spired by impressions of the sand dunes and ocean as seen from her studio on a bluff overlooking the coast line.
