Chilllngtoiv na tional field representative, the American Legion, was here recently from Veterans Ad ministration regional office at Los Angeles, Calif. He covers Arizona, Nevada, Idaho and Utah; Washington, Oregon and California; Hawaii and Alaska. This ii the same territory served by the Veterans Ad ministration area medical of fice, which has headquarters t San Francisco. He has been in this service for 12 years and this is his third visit to our domiciliary. The purpose of this visitation Is Us see the operation and to confer with staff personnel. After the visitation he sends a report to National Head quarters of the American Le gion. Copies of his report go to central office of the Veter ans Administration. "I think it Is a beautiful domiciliary," he said, "and well administered." The director of the Veter ans Administration hospital, Roseburg, Dr. Frank F. Merk er, was a visitor at our domi ciliary recently. Dr. Merker addressed the members of th Jackson Coun ty Medical association Wed' nesday evening. Glenn Howe, American Le gion department service off! cer, department of Oregon, also visited at the station to confer with mcmbera on claims pending at the region al office In Portland. Howa has been the depart ment service officer for the past seven years, and is known to many of our members. Another visitor to the domi ciliary last week was Mrs. Richard Gearheart, president ef the Amercian Legion aux iliary, state of Oregon. She made the first contri bution to the Classical Library of Records which ia being built up, one of her favorites, "The Schumann Concerto In A Minor." She has Interested other auxiliaries in adding to this collection. Also coming to the domi ciliary recently were skilled geamstresses of the Salvation Army Night league, Cecelia Crawford, La Rue Nafziger, Mabel Nicholson and Susie Johnsburg. These ladies came to do a special job on our Stage curtain. The curtain, because of shrinkage, had to be lowered five Inches, to make a iatls factory appearance on the stage. Frank Glonning was pleased when their work was finished, and said, "They did an excellent Job in lowering the hem about five inches and improving the appearance of the curtain tremendously. My thanks are extended to them." They are also going to make Jackets and coats for our sta tion orchestra. 4-H NEWS Table Reck Club Table Rock Stitchers and Snappy Homemakers 4-H club met on April 20 when we held an Easter egg hunt at May field's. We invited our broth ers and sisters and our par ents. We had 12 children and six parents and leaders present. We had refreshments, then we played :ames until time for us to hunt eggs. Sandra Maytleld, Reporter Cold Hill Club The last meeting of the Gold Hill Livestock 4-H club was held at the Schmidt's home. The meeting was called to order by Marie Jones, our president. We judged three lambs. Some of our members told how they would classify the different lambs. Reports were given by Joe Thomas and Fleet Parsons. Joe Thomas also gave a hu morous reading. Carl Johnson gave us a test on the parts of a rabbit. We discussed summer camp. Kay Stephenson announced that Douglas Burrm had the highest number of points in the recent dairy Judging con tent. 0 We dlscuwed and decided to adopt a 4-H clulPin South America. The next meeting will be May 7 in fee vocational agrl-; culture building and all new I members are welcome.
