Brigadier Antonio Caiazzo, chief of the carabinieri (na tional police) precinct, which includes Miss Taylor's S3.000-a-month villa on the old Ap pian Way just outside Rome, spent about an hour at her residence. "We have come to investi gate this matter about what really happened to Miss Tay lor," Caiazzo said. They apparently have not seen each other since then, although their villas are only a few hundred yards apart.
