OREGON McLoughlin Junior High Wins Plaque At Music Contest Medford's McLoughlin Jun. lor High school varsity band won first place plaque in the junior high music contest at Hedrick Junior High school cently. Medford's Hedrick Junior High orchestra and the Ash land Junior High string or chestra tied ior the second place plaque. The Hedrick Junior High ninth grade chorus and the Briscoe ele mentary chorus from Ashland won third and fourth place plagues, respectively. Ratings in the band and orchestra division were: I Plus ratine for McLouchlin varsity band and I ratings lor Hedrick varsity band, Ashland varsity band and Freemont junior High band from Roseburg. I Minus Ratings Receiving I minus ratings were Klamath Falls band, Riddle band, Josephine coun ty honor band, Freemont, Klamath Falls band, North Junior High band from Grants Pass and Joseph Lane Junior High band from Roseburg. . Ashland Junior High cadet band and South unior High band from Grants Pass won II ratings; Kerby won II ml. Bus ratings and Talent Jun ior High band won III plus ratings. . ' Ratings for orchestras using seventh, eighth and ninth grade students were: I plus ratings for Hedrick and Ash land Junior High string or chestra, a tie; II plus ratings for McLoughlin varsity or chestra and Freemond or chestra. Vocal Division Winners of the vocal divl lion for seventh and eighth and ninth grade students were: I plus for Hedrick ninth grade chorus and I for Cen tral Point chorus, Hedrick eighth grade chorus, Klamath Pnion High school ninth grade chorus and McLoughlin Jun ior High chorus for the sev enth grade.
