Victory in the first game restored Medford to the lone lead in the Southern Oregon conference with its third win in three counting games. Kla math stayed in third place with a 1-1 standing behind the 2-0 of the idle Ashland Griz zlies. Medford meets Ashland on Wednesday. ' Medford scored all of its runs in the final inning in each game, getting the three in the seventh frame of the opener after two were out. Klamath tabulated in the first canto of each contest. Stuart Young walked to start the Tornado on its way in the closing frame of the opener. Dick Deffley doubled him home and Mike Barnes singled Deffley to third base. On a double steal try KF catcher Mike Kitching heaved the ball into left field. Daf fley scored with Barnes mov ing to third. Dan Miles doubled Barnes home. Klamath got its run on a walk, a sacrifice by Bud Wol ter end an error. Six-Hirt Young walked one batter and fanned three in a six-hit pitching effort. Elgin Baylor, the Los Angeles Lakers' one-man army, smash ed a string of National Foot ball association scoring rec ords tonight to lead his team to a 126-121 upset victory over the defending champion Boston Celtics. Baylor, who collected four half and full-game records in the battle, collected 61 points to pace the Lakers to the comeback victory over a three-time champion Celtic team which had been favored by eight points in the game. (UPD Vet eran southpaw Kenny Lane gave previously unbeaten Luis Molina a master boxing lesson through the first seven rounds end then withstood a furious assault through the last three stanzas to .win a unanimous decision Saturday night. It was the first professional defeat for the 23-year-old Mo lina, who had won 20 in a row with 17 knockouts. There were no knockdowns al though there were several slips to the canvas. Never before had Molina run up against the experience displayed by the 30-year-old Lane. The veteran from Mus kegon, Mich., jabbed with his right and then rocked Mo lina's head repeatedly with short rights all through the fight. Meanwhile Molina, who came in at ZVt to Lane's 138'4, was swinging wildly and missing by as much as six inches to a foot as Lane danced easily out of danger. The winning run was walk ed home in the bottom of the seventh inning with two out. Bob Corliss chucked two-hit ball for the Eagles, striking out 10 batters and walking two. Cary Glement doubled and singled to head the EP hitting. The Eagles took a 2 to 0 lead in the second inning. Rogue River went ahead with three runs in the fifth frame. EP tied the mix in the sixth and Rogue River regained the lead at 4-3 in the top of the seventh canto with the aid of two Eagle miscues. In the bottom of the last canto for EP, Jan Dusenberry and Neil Adams brew bases on balls and Dusenberry came home when Mike Charley got on base on an error. Frank Charley walked to fill the bases. Roger Bartlett drew another pass to force over the victory tally. Mike O'Brien, in a five-hitter for Rogue River, whiffed six batters and walked seven. MH Golfers Defeat GP Jim Woods paced the field for Medford high Friday as two Black Tornado golf com binations won from Grants Pass at Rogue Valley Country club. Woods stroked an even par 37-35-72 as the first Medford unit won 394 to 441. His card was the best by Tornado player since Coach Paul Even sen has supervised the golf team. Rich Knight stroked a 78 for second low card for Medford and Jerry Robertson led Grants Pass with an 84. Medford second crew had i 441 to 572 margin.
