The London Daily Worker carried an 1 illustration of a, Russian space capsule (top) which appeared somewhat similar to the I U.S. Mercury capsule, bottom, which the U.S. will use in an attempt to orbit an as tronaut. (UPI Telephoto) Scientist Blames Lack of Decisions Los Angeles (UPD "Lack of timely decisions" was blamed today by a U.S. scientist for Russia . beating America in orbiting a man around the earth. . . William E. Zisch, executive vice : president of Aerojet- General, - a large California rocket-making firm, said the Russian flight was "truly an exciting achievement." But he added, "lack of timely de cisions on the part of the United States, in my opinion, has delayed , this country's matching or bettering : the Russians in getting man in space. ,; ' . The song of the year award was voted the theme from the movie "Exodus." ; Wall Street Chatter New York-IUPD-Goodbody & Co. finds that the failure of the rails to join the recent rise of the industrials appar ently has disturbed a number of market analysts. The brokerage house says, nevertheless, that two things are clear: (1) on a number of past occasions, the rails have lagged substantially behind industrials, both percentage wise and in point of time; (2) the railroad industry is no longer as important In the economy as it once was. . We are now entering a pe riod when those who bought on the weakness in the mar ket last September and Octo ber have long-term gains, Goodbody concludes, but barring a shocking news de velopment, there appear to be no signs of any serious reac tion developing yet. Bennett was hanged early today' for - the 1954 rape and attempted mur der of an 11-year-old Austrian girl. - ' -' The Army executioner dropped the trap from be neath the feet of the 24-year-old - Negro soldier - at 12:05 a.m. He was officially pro nounced dead at 12:21 a.m. Bennett was convicted and sentenced to death at a court martial in Salzburg, Austria, Feb. 8, 1955. He had been awaiting . execution at Ft. Leavenworth since April 20, 1955. The death sentence was af firmed by former. President Dwight Eisenhower. Bennett's attorneys lost several appeals in the courts. The soldier was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Bennett of Chatham, Va. . Honolulu - (UPD - Ingram M.
