Caveman, Tornado Relay C There are particular events in which each of the schools entered are expected to shine. But, when it comes to the team championship, the same old story is anticipated Saturday-afternoon in the annual Rogue Valley relays at the Medford high stadium. Medford and Grants Pass, only high schools which have captured the - Rogue titular trophy, are expected to battle it out again, Said an observer, who has seen both squads in action, "Grants Pass and Medford are really going to be locking horns, I think." 1 : : GP has shown its strength with a 68 Vi to 53 win over the Roseburg invitational and with a 6SVi to 63 win over Marshfleld last . week' end. Medford flexed Its muscles, in the Ore-Cal relays at Ashland last Saturday. . ' Not Tha Depth ; ' ' : There are events lh which the other Rogue participants, Crater, Ashland and Klamath Falls are expected to do well. But, they do not appear to have the depth of strength to be In contention for the mantle. ' ' vfl":;-. "We'll be In there fighting for all we can get," Knapp stated., - .V PbUIips Tops ' j Klamath Falls has a top javelin thrower in Allen Phil lips who also broad jumps. Its sprint medley quartet - of Stltes, Lawrie, Dahn and Piper had fast time in the Ore-Cal.. Medford ' In the Ashland meet last week had the top prep performances in nine events. However, the Black Tor nado suffered a blow yester day when Mike Hood, high hurdler, . high jumper and broad jumper hurt his foot while running. Seriousness of the injury was being deter mined this morning. But, it was thought that Hood may miss the relays and be out of action even longer. Coach Dean Benson' can call on Roy Shaw to run in the hurdles. If Hood is to be replaced in the broad and high jumps, a jump off today will determine who will fill in.-:;.!'-"-",': ;''..; ..- .
