Like the second Medford businessman who took time . ; out to compliment me on my , publicity condemned defense of the branded, fined and jailed electrical officials. Understandably, the Med- ford businessmen do not want -.to be identified, though both . mentioned names of the elec trical men they claimed to know, speaking of them as men above average in civic . affairs and concern for their fellow men. To my way of thinking, such men had to be . Just that. For they were the ones who consented to be the goats in being branded as - common criminals, fined, Jailed and put on probation - of good behavior. This mind - you, that their fellow officials could escape popular public eomdemnation. Just what was the "sin" of these men representing their companies? As told to me, and verifying ' my own rea soning, they met in secret agreement with other electri cal executives to agree on a base rate below which they would not go in bidding on . government and other coh : tracts. Why? Just plain grim survival as a going concern, brief life to give? will 'persevere see God," and live. Mildred Allen Jeffery Medford . Robert Krposdrna Tacoma. To the Editor: In response to my suggestion for a "Let's Appreciate - No Complaint" week during Easter, my desk is flooded with mall, about 70 per cent approval and enthus iastic on the idea. It is heartwarming to real ize most people prefer to be loving and tolerant, rather than" critical of his fellow man. It there is anything this world is seriously in need of, it's "Love and Tolerance." - I can't think of a better time to express these two es sentials than right now, and Incidentally, those . feelings are very contagious. Who knows how far it might spread, and what good accom plished, if we here In the most beautiful spot in the na tion would "sow the seeds" of the example set before us by the only "perfect" Man there ever will be. : . Let's show our faith, and appreciation of His sacrifice by our own conduct, in ap preciation, tolerance, and gen uine love of our fellow man, regardless of race or religion. All humanity Is approximate ly 90 per cent decent and good, if we restrain our pompous" ideas of Judging him, and replace that with the warmth of human kind ness he so needs. Let's take this Easter week to throw out the "self ego" in our natures, the urge to convince others only WE have the best way to do things. Let's thaw that "iceberg" we call our hearts, and let the basic good In the most of us flow out' to others who feel lonely and confused. We may (discover a new re spect for ourselves, even, certainly greater happiness. Each of us could fill a book with our blessings. Let s share them. And now, to the staff of the Mail Tribune, I would say thank you for your fine paper, for your tolerance In reading and editing our badly written letters, our com plaints, and gripes. . For a thousand good friends and neighbors in this area, and for the privilege of living among them - all these things and more I do sincerely ap preciate. A very Happy Easter to all Mary Williams . Orr dr. Central Point, Ore. ' P.S. - To all those who sent questions, and , suffered to know, the "above" is your answer. To the 90 per cent who sent warm, friendly let ters and lovely cards, I am extremely grateful. The Hot Gorge Rites To the Editor: If the law less, unconstitutional behav ior of Chief Justice Earl War ren and his concurring col leagues, as they make a mock ery of our Supreme Court, brings the hot gorge up in your throat, you are in learned and distinguished company. For the brazen, criminal, pro-Red rulings of this Court has brought down the wrath and the castigating condemnation of scores of our Congressmen, and practically all of our State Supreme Court Justices. Furthermore, the American Bar Association, representing 200,000 American attorneys and judges with the best legal brains of the nation, has listed 20 Decisions of the Warren Court, over a period of just two years, which are aiding and abetting the Communist Conspiracy in America. Now, get a good grip on yourself and read the follow ing slowly. On Feb. 19-21, 25-28 and Mar. 3, 4, 1958, in a hearing before our Internal Security Subcommittee, the SPX Research Associates pre sented overwhelming, docu mented evidence which brand ed the Warren Court as prob ably the most Important in strument of the Communist Conspiracy in their program Conquest. This Re- port was suppressed. The gen eral public never got to read It. , There are now approxi mately three dozen major, "Red" Decisions of this Court which are giving vast, untold "aid and contort" to our mor tal enemy, the Communist Conspiracy, in this country decisions that have torn gap ing holes in our precious Con stitution; that have reinstated fired Communists in teaching jobs in our schools, and in sensitive Government jobs, WITH BACK PAY; that have left sovereign States helpless in the face of subversion and treason; that have freed con victed traitors; hamstrung our Congressional Comm 1 1 1 e e s; and handcuffed our FBI; that have struck down practically every bulwark this Nation has raised between America and the Great Red Conspiracy. If we, the American people, take this laying down, we don't deserve the free Amer ica we are now living in. We don't deserve anything better MEDFOHD MAIL TRIBUNE. MEDFORD. OREGON are now getting under their cruel masters, including ter ror of Secret Ponce, slave labor camps, and ' execution squads. The Perfect Switch To the Editor: With the an nouncement from Los Angeles by Eason Monroe that, "The Amerioan Civil Liberties Un ion opposes .the investigation of the John Birch Society by either the congress or the legislature of the state of Call-fornia"-here is the perfect switch, for the John Birch Society has pointed the finger of unpatriotic action' at the ACLU for some time. To the Editor: It isn't often that you can take a trip down through the air passages into the lungs, and see what goes on down there as a person breathes, particularly as that SEARS V I v. I w I I I . I person smokes a cigarette. This is what you can do, however, in' the brand new film, "Time Pulls the Trig ger." This film, excellent for educational purposes, com bines action that is partly live and partly animated. By means of a cartoon sequence the effect of smoking on the lungs and the blood circula tion is made unusually clear and graphic. The impact of this full col or film is tremendous and un forgettable. The message of "Time Pulls the Trigger," is accurate, med ically and scientifically, yet the story is told in a popular way easily followed by all, young and old. This new film, along with another brand new one, are beL-g given several free show ings here in- the valley this week end. The other new film Is titled, "5-7:30." This one really appeals to teen-agers and shows the actual results of America's cocktail time, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. There will be a final free showing Sunday, April 1, at the Ashland Assembly of God church. These two films will highlight the regular Sunday evening service. The Amer ican Temperance Society is promoting these worthwhile films. The writer of this let ter has viewed them both. The Mimimum Wage Vote To the Editor: Much has ap peared in your paper recently criticizing Representa tive Durno for his vote against the administration's minimum wage law. Mr. Nor ton of Phoenix and Mr. Straub of Eugene have gone so far as to suggest that single handedly. Representative Durno has stopped the Ken nedy administration from the accomplishment of its pur pose in this field. The current House is com posed of 261 Democrats and 176 Republicans. Here in the Fourth District we should be proud indeed of a freshman congressman who can over come an overwhelming ma jority of opposition arrayed against him and work his will upon the nation. This, of course, is foolish ness. Almost as foolish as the attempt to legislate wage levels. The whole history of human freedom has been the struggle against governmen tal power. When the children of Israel spoke , to ' Samuel saying "Give us a King to rule us," this wise man warned them of the disastrous effects of unlimited govern mental power. From that day to this the lesson of history is clear. Freedom, security, prosperity are matters of in dividual attainment, not gov ernmental edict. Speaking directly to the point, the minimum wage law in and of itself is not a guarantee of prosperity and happiness for all. Medford Fear Not Death To the Editor: In regard to a communication by Mr. Da vid Frisch, who seems to be somewhat concerned about heaven being over-crowded. What, know you not sir, that you and all this multi tude were sons of God in heaven, for is it not recorded in the Bible when the Lord said to Job "when all the sons of God jump with joy,'' he spoke here of a thing that was, but is not now?
