Cost Estimates Made On Tentative Road Program in County The tentative 1961-62 Jack son county road program in cludes 26.65 miles of grading and graveling at an estimated total cost of $466,945 and 29.34 miles of oiling and pav ing at a total estimated cost of $260,480, according to County Engineer Robert J. Carstensen. The county engineer ex plained that this program is tentative so far since the coun ty court has not approved the proposals yet. This proposed program compares with $478, 720 for 41.59 miles of grading and graveling in the 1960-61 road schedule and $254,405 for 38.13 miles of oiling and paving in the 1960-61 sched ule. However, not all of these projects have been completed. Some of the grading and grav eling must be completed this spring and some of the oiling and paving must be finished this summer. Spring Completion Those grading and gravel ing projects to be completed this spring are one mile on Corey rd. at an estimated cost of $9,000; 1.10 miles on the Foothill rd., from Vilas id to Coker Butte rd., at $12,920; Poorman creek, 1.50 miles, at $31,500; Elk creek, one mile, at $21,000; Applegate rd., 2.69 miles, at $40,000. If these projects nre not completed be for Iho new fiscal year starts July I, then they will be re budgeted and carried over into tile new program. The boys were Michael Bon kowski, 11; Steve Wagner, 12, and Ron Wagner, 11, brothers, and Timothy Jones, 13. Three airmen from the Mt. Hebo Air Force base, part of 250 searchers, located the youngsters. The boys were de scribed in good condition and sent home. A sheriff's deputy said the boys told him they spent the night huddled together near an old log after losing their directions. They had been expected back Saturday night after leaving that afternoon. Youngster's Body Found at Newport Newport-(UPD-A body wash ed up on the beach near here was identified Sunday as that of a 9-year-old Harrisburg boy crushed by a rolling log and swept out to sea March 15. Russell Alan Kizer was kill ed along with his sister, Di anne, 13, by the log as they were standing at Hecata beach just north of Florence. Spring's first week end lived up to its promised warmth for most of the na tion but warm air melted snow that gorged the Cedar and sent floodwaters racing along the Winnebago, Rac coon and Little Sioux rivers in Iowa. Authorities at Waterloo, Iowa, braced for a predicted lO'j-foot crest on the Cedar, 4V4 feel over residential flood stage and the highest predict ed crest in 32 years. National Guard troops moved into Mason City, Iowa, and the Red Cross launched emergency operations for 30 families removed ahead of the Winnebago.
