However, Eddie Ho gan, Riverside, Portland, who took the prize in 1959 will compete, as will Bob Duden, Oswego, who was runnerup that year. Three Out-of-state Among those slated to con tend this time are Boots Por terfield, Crants Pass, who was third in 1960 and Glen Spivey, Glendover, Portland, who took fourth. There is no list available here of amateurs who will be accompanying the pros. John Hagey, Eastmoreland, Portland, had amateur low gross for the three days last spring. DeRoss Kinkade, Cot tage Grove, took that honor in 1959. At least three out-of-state pros are in the field. They include Harry Clow, Royal Oaks, Vancouver, Wash.; George Titchwell, Redwood Empire club. Fortuna, Calif., and Jack Travis, Red Bluff, Calif. HOCKEY NATIONAL LEAGUE United Press International The Toronto Maple Leafs held a 1-0 lead in their best-of-seven Stanley Cup semi final series with the Detroit Red Wings today all because manager - coach George (Punch) Imlach was back to his crystal ball gazing. Imlach, accused of using witchcraft because of his suc cess with the once - lowly Maple Leafs, hesitated Wed nesday night before using captain George Armstrong in the series opener at Toronto which the Leafs won, 3-2. in two periods of overtime. Armstrong, out of action since March 1, returned to the playoff wars and scored the winning goal.
