Williams School Has New Classroom William s Second and third graders at Williams school are mighty proud these days. They have a brand new classroom and they make no attempt to hide their en thusiasm. Some of them have been counting the weeks and days since the school year started, anxiously awaiting the day when they would be able to "move in." Previously, their room was located in the school base ment whore space, light, warmth and pleasant sur roundings were termed in adequate. Many of the third grade group had already spent more than a year there. Upon moving into the room with windows on the entire north side, one child ex claimed, "Now mom and dad can't call me their educated gopher!" In checking this story, it was revealed that the child has spent nearly three out of four years of school in basement classrooms, begin ning with an out of state kindergarten. Clyde Hamilton, Grants Pass contractor, was occasion ally "prodded" along by these new tenants, reports reveal. Mrs. Mary Sloan, second and third grade teacher, has nothing but glowing words for the new room. She com pares spacious blackboards and bulletin boards to a lim ited number in the old class room, tile floors to cement floors, windows to tiny bits of light and a cabinet sink unit with drinking fountain I Mains 1 5 Gr.
