The event will be held at 1:30 p.m. It was stated that school will not be dismissed early that day. A group of sixth grade stu dents will dance a minuet. Models for the fashion show will include Mrs. Loren Sod erlund, Mrs. Rick Riggs, Miss Carolyn Bell, Mrs. Alva Brad ford, Mrs. Louise Davis, Mrs. Vcster Simmonds, Mrs. Paul Fullmer and Mrs. Tom Ant ley. Children modeling will include Cathy, Cindy ' and Carol Bradford and ' Jerry Johnson. Mrs. Edward Evans and Mrs. Lee Johnson, assisted by the PTA officers and execu tive board, will be in charge Mr. and Mra. Gordon L. Askwith, 466 South First street, became the bride of Gordon L. Hlven burg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merle F. Rlvenburg, 816 Con stant avenue, in a ceremony, February 4. The double-ring service was performed by the Rev. Robert Olmsted at eight o'clock in the evening in First Presbyter ian church. The wedding was the first performed by the Rev. Mr. Olmsted since he was ordained to the ministry and came to Central Point. . The bride was given in mar riage bv her father. She. wore a ballerina-length gown oi Alcncon lace over taffeta, de signed on princess lines, with scoop neckline, three-quarter sleeves . and lull . gathered skirt. She carried a shower : bourjuot of hyacinth florets 'and Mayday roses with her. Job s Daughters queen Bible. wore a navy blue jacket dress with navy accessories and white corsage. ; James Olson was best man. Ushers were Neil Rlvenburg, brother of the bridegroom, and James Askwith. brother of the bride. Baskets of white chrysan themums and stock, with can-. delabra, decorated the church, Mrs. Gordon Mekvold was or ganist and accompanied Mrs. Merrill Harsh, soloist, About 100 guests attended the 1 wedding and reception which followed in the church. The reception room was dec orated in pink and white, with candelabra and flowers, by Mrs. Victor Noel. Assisting were Mrs. Noel and Mrs. Glenn Kelley, who cut the cake; Mrs. Ervln Schulz and Mrs. Kay Kelley, who poured; Mrs. 'Gerald Butler, at the guest book; and Mrs. William Colley, gifts. . . I The young couple traveled The bride attended Crater High school and Southern Or egon college and Is employed at First National bank, Cen tral Point branch. She is a past queen of Bethel 38, Inter national Order of Job's Daughters. The bride's family has lived in the valley since early days. Her grandfather, the late Gu Tex, was post master of Central Point for many years' and also served as city recorder for a time. The bridegroom attended Hudson Bay High school, Van couver, Wash., and is an em ployee of White City Ply wood company. For - traveling the . bride wore a beige-tone knit dress and the corsage from her brid al bouquet. Out-of-town guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs, Adrian Olson, Vancou ver, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gehrman, Miss Marlene Gehrman and Paul Gehrman Jr., Bend. She wore a pink sheath dress of Alencon lace over taffeta with a midriff trim of pink satin. Her colon-1 ial bouquet was of white car-1 nations and Mayday rosebuds. Miss Sue Kelley and Miss Janice Campbell, candleltght : ers, wore white brocade sheath dresses with pink cum merbunds and pink carnation wristlets. 1 The bride's mother chose a mauve lace sheath with pink accessories and pink corsage. The bridegroom's mother wore a blue-green brocade jacket dress with portrait neckline and white corsage will be at home in Medford, cnts. Sorority Gives 'Annual Breakfast Three Medford girls, stu dents at Oregon State col' lege, Corvallis, are assisting with Delta Delta Delta soror ity's annual silver offering breakfast today. The girls are Miss Nyla Murray, Miss Judy Bash and . Miss Karen Johnson. The breakfast event was started 11 years ago to raise money for the scholarship fund. Rlvenburg. The riles ware held February 4, and the newiywsdi are living in Medford. (Anders photo) NATIONAL BEAUTY SIMM WEEK February 12 to 18 Nyes Return From Islands Mr. and Mrs. Stephen G. Nye have returned to their home on the Phoenix-Hillcrest road from a tour of the Ha waiian islands. Mr. Nye is an orchardist and the tour was one arranged by the Cali fornia Farm Bureau in coop eration with the Hawaiian Japanese Farm Bureau. In addition to the 'usual tourist spots, those making the Farm Bureau trip were taken to cattle and dairy ranches, visited an orchid-shipping cen ter and learned about the growing and shipping of maca damian nuts. They made the trip to Hono lulu by plane, and toured the islands of Hawaii, Hilo and Maui. On Maui a heavy rain prevented the group from vis iting pineapple plantations. At various places . women mem bers of the Farm Bureau serv ed luncheons for the visitors. T Club Planning Valentine Party The Rogue Valley Country club will hold a Valentlnd party Saturday, February 18, at the club for members and invited guests. Host couples will be Mr. and Mrs. Paul Doe, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Harris and Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Browns. Cocktails will be served from 8 to 9 with dancing from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Dinner will be served between 10 p.m and midnight. Reservations may now be made by telephoning the club at SPring 2-896S. PI Phi Alumnae . To Hold Meeting The coming 94th anniver sary of the organization of PI Beta Phi, national social sorority, will be discussed at a meeting of alumnae of the group set for Thursday, Feb ruary 16. It will be held at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Wil liam Wood, 2512 Lyman avenue. The evening's program will include the history of PI Beta Phi, a business meeting with election of alumnae club offi cers, and a traditional Pi Phi "cookie shine." Hostesses assisting Mrs Wood will be Mrs. M. Donald McGeary, Phoenix, and Mrs. Elliott MacCracken, Ashland. of the event. It was stated that the program is the PTA's prin cipal money making project of the year and is open to the public. Following the fashion show costume jewelry will be sold, it was announced. Date Announced For Style Show; Club Has Party All women interested are invited to a style show spon sored by the Welcome Wagon club at 8 p.m. March 2 at Girls Community club. Clothes will be from the Town and Country shop, White City. Bridge, pinochle and canasta will be played following the show. John Lusk, 6rganist, will entertain during the show. . A skating party for club' members and husbands was held Sunday evening. After wards the group met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sanborn for refreshments. As sisting Mrs. Sanborn was Mrs. Gary King. The next Welcome Wagon card party will be Thursday, February 16, at 8 p.m. at the Red Cross building on Haw thorne avenue. No reserva tions are needed. All newcom ers are invited to attend. ' At the 'last meeting of Wel come club. Dr. Richard Nel son, representing the School of Hope, was guest speaker. He explained the aims and purposes of the school and the progress that has been made in the local school. Mrs. Richard irey was ap pointed publicity chairman to replace Mrs. James Pollard who is moving to San Diego. " The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Dobrot, Salinas, former ly of Central Point, and her fiance is the son of Mr.- and Mrs. A. R. Landsberg, Nation al City, Calif. . Miss Dobrot, a graduate of Crater High school, is a junior majoring in food technology .at Oregon State college, Cor vallis. She is a member of Azalea house. Her fiance is a graduate of Gering High school, Gering, Neb., 'and the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is a graduate student in chemical engineering at OSC. No date has been set for their wedding. : On Vacation Shady Cove - Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Hanson, Nampa, Idaho, recently were guests of their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Rudi Dirksen, Trail. . The Hansons were returning home after spending a vacation touring through old Mexico. Brazilian Student Booked For Fellowship Luncheon Miss Euzi R. Moraes, a Bra zilian student in a graduate school at the University of Oregon, will speak at the an nual fellowship luncheon, of Medford branch of American Association of University Women. . ' .; . Cobb, luncheon chairman. . . ; Miss Moraes is from Vitoria, capital of Espirito Santo. Es perito Santo is the Brazilian coastal state just north of Rio de Janeiro. After her 1956 graduation from college in Rio de Janeiro, she taught Portu guese, Latin and English in high school. The youngest of four children, Miss Moraes has also been active as a Sun day school teacher and youth leader. Mrs. Richard W.
