Vehicles Collide Vehicles operated by Samuel James Moorehouse, 33, of 463 North Sixth st., Central Point, and Earl Wagner Weaver, 57, of 841 East Ninth st., collided Thursday about 6:30 p.m. on Court st., between Mc Andrews rd. and Manzanita st., according to city police. Welch, 55, and his daugh ter, Miss Edna Marie Welch, 21, both of 107 Blackstone St., Jacksonville, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Followers of Christ church, two miles from Ore gon City on the Molalla high way. Interment will be in Oregon City. Holman - Han-kins-Rilance mortuary, Ore gon City, is in charge. Mr. Welch and Miss Welch were killed Dec. 26 in an au tomobile accident about 33 miles north of Roseburg. In jured in the accident were Mr. Welch's wife, Irene Welch 51, and his son, Charles, 22. Mr. Welch lived the major ity of his life in the Rogue valley, and was employed by the city of Medford since 1946. He was chief of the city's surveying crew. Miss Welch was a student at South ern Oregon college, Ashland. Other survivors include two brothers of Mr. Welch, Ed ward C. Welch, Jacksonville, and Donald J. Welch, Grants Pass. Miss Welch's survivors also include her grandmother, Mrs. Jennie Westerberg, an uncle, Carl Westerberg, and an aunt, Mrs. Ruth Smith, all Molalla. FA YE BURRELL Mrs. Faye Burrell, of Lake Creek, died this morning in a local hospital. Funeral ar rangements will be announced by Conger-Morris, funeral directors. ALBERT V. PRAED Funeral services for Albert V. Praed, 73, of 26 Cottage St., who died Wednesday, were held this afternoon at Hillcresl Mortuary chapel. The Rev. Frederick Evans of the First Christian church of ficiated. Committal was in Hillcresl Memorial park, with Conger-Morris, funeral direc tors, in charge of arrange ments. Mr. Praed was born Dec. 16, 1887, in Republic, Mich., and had lived in Medford since 1952. He was married June 4, 1930, in Shelton, Wash., lo Nellie W. Cooke, who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Olive Larsen, Weed, Calif.; a brother, W. J. Praed. Bell, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Penney, Edmonds Wash.; and one granddaugh ter. Casket bearers included Eu gene Goff, Roy Clark, William Young, Jesse Russell, Eugene Huffman and Bert Bell. Hattield Proposes 'Shower' for Nixon Salem-IUPll-Ropublican Gov. Mark Hatfield today proposed a national "birthday card shower" for Vice President Richard M. Nixon on Jan. 9, Nixon's 48th birthday. Nixon leaves the vice presi dency Jan. 20. Hatfield, who nominated Nixon for president at the GOP national convention said "in victory as well as in defeat he showed his measure. and in the latter he earned the respect of his opponent." "In our lifetime we will doubtless never see again an election as close," Hatfield said. "A vote of thanks might well be expressed through a birthday card shower ad dressed lo him in Wash ington."
