Hill Tuesday sot hearings on peti tions by Greyhound Corpora tion and Continental Pacific Trailways to increase their faros in Oregon. Both ask a blanket increase of 10 per cent with a mini mum fare of 30 cents for adults and 25 cents for chil dren. Greyhound's case will be hoard al 10 a.m. Jan. 3 in the Slate Office Building in Port land and Continental s the following day at the same time and place. Hedrick's Christmas music program will be presented on Wednesday, Dec, 21, at 8 p.m. New music technique class schedules have been issued to some band members. There is quite a variety of lost and found items in the office. Students are reminded to check for any missing clothing or other articles be fore vacation. Physical exams were giv en seventh graders on Tues day through Friday last week. Schedules were arranged in PE classes for the girls on Tuesday and Wednesday and the boys the following two days. Students are urged to sign up for the next Shasta Ski Bowl trip which will be held during the vacation Wednes day, Dec. 28. Woman, 43, found In Trunk of Auto Ontario, Ore. (UPD Mrs. Lucille Schoonover, 43, was reported in satisfactory con dition at a hospital today after being found locked in the trunk of her car on a road northeast of Vale. Slate police said she may have spent three days in the trunk. , State Game Officers Chester Hostrick found the car on the lonely road and heard cries coming from the trunk. Unable to open the trunk, he ripped out the back seat of the automobile and pulled the woman out. She was rushed to a hospital here. Officers said Mrs. Schoon over had been reported miss ing Friday. Her husband told officers he was concerned when she drove away and failed to return home after several hours, He said she had been under a doctor's care. We had our second annual Christmas parly and elected officers for 1961. For our club project this year we donated a box of food to a needy family for Christ mas. Following the awards we had a steeple chase along with other games and prizes were given to the winners. Nilsen warned members of the legis lature Tuesday against what he called proposals for "dras tic reorganization" of the State Labor Department. In a letter to each legislator, Nilsen said Gov. Mark Hat field's proposals to appoint instead of elect the labor com missioner and to revamp the labor department were un called for. The proposals attacked by Nilsen are part of the govern or's reorganization plan for Oregon's government. Under the new labor department, in addition to making Nilsen's position appointive, Hatfield would consolidate several now-independent agencies re lated to labor and employ ment. Hatfield has claimed the change would provide ef ficiency and coordination, and would "establish a true depart ment of labor in Oregon state government."
