Headdresses To Feature Christmas Charity Bal When m'lady is planning what she will wear to the Ball, it will include not only a gown and slippers but also a headdress if she is going to the Junior Service League's Christmas Charity , Ball. .This annual event is to be held at the Rogue Valley Country club on December 16. For the past several years the women have worn fancy headdresses and highlight of the evening is announcement of who has been named Queen of the Ball for wear ing the prize-winning head dress. In past years the head dresses have been beautiful, exciting and imaginative. They have been made from such varied materials as Christmas tinsel and tree trimmings, fresh flowers, children's stuffed toys, and real deer antlers. Some have been replicas of ski slopes, Women Golfers Schedule Party Among the many holiday events planned for this week is the annual Christmas party of the Rogue Valley Women Golfers' association. It will be Thursday, December 15 at 12:30 p.m. in the main dining room of the Rogue Valley Country club. Each member will bring a Christmas gift for exchange. Miss Joy Olson In School Choir Miss Joy Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Edgar Clson, 100 South Grovcland jvenue, will sing in the an nual Stephens college, Colum bia, Mo., Christmas program Monday, December 12. ''he program, one of the highlights of the holiday ac tivities at the college, is pro- sented by the Stephens 100' voice concert chorus. Miss Olson is in her first year at the' college for women. Cocktail Party Lt. Col. and Mrs. Franklin Van Pelt were hosts for a small cocktail party which preceded the annual Military Ball, held December 3 at Rogue Valley Country club. M. Evans, Santa Barbara, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Evans are planning to make Medford their future home. They have purchased an apartment in Roguo Valley Manor, which will be ready for occupancy about February 15, 1061. Smith of Central Point will be honored at their golden wed ding reception Sunday, De cember 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Central Point Grange Ju venile hall. The Smiths are charter members of the Central Point Grange and have lived in Jackson county the past 50 years. Their children and Grange friends will be in charge of the reception. All interested people are invited to attend. Parties Honor Miss Hamilton A number of recent social events have honored Miss Nancy Hamilton. Miss Hamil ton's wedding to Bruce Barr Samson of La Grande, Ore., is set for Tuesday, December 27, at St. Mark's Episcopal church. Mrs. Robert Sage and Mrs. J. Sanford Richardson, Table Rock, were hostesses for a family party December 4 which honored Miss Hamilton. Mr. Sage and Miss Hamilton are cousins, and Mrs. Richard son is her aunt. The event was held at the Sage home on Oregon ter race, with 22 guests attend ing. The refreshment table was centered with white chrysanthemus arranged with pink and white wedding bells and candles. Miss Hamilton was presented a shower of gifts for her new home. Miss Hamilton was honored at a shower given by Mrs. Ar- nel Butler, Mrs. Ann Wirkku la and Mrs. F. Wilson Wait at the latter's home on 220 Van couver avenue. Dessert was served, and decorations were white and cream - colored chrysanthemums from the gar den of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Thompson.
