OREGON, SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11, 1960 Holiday Parties The Red Cross auditorium was brightly decorated in Christmas red and white for a benefit holiday party which Med ford Branch, American Association of University Women, held Wednesday, Co-chairmen of arrangements were Mrs. George Johns (center) and Mrs. William McLaren and Wednesday afternoon little Candy Johns helped hang tiny candy canes on the. white Christmas trees which centered the bridge tables. 4 Hv;tx' IIHil l;l!v -: -, ,otC1 ? -r ' iff Vl 1 One of the gala holiday parties held each year in the Rogue valley Is the Military Ball given by active and retired officers of the various armed forces. Among the guests at the 1960 Ball, held December 3 at Rogue Valley Country club were Lt. Col. Raymond Proctor (at left) and Major Robert Rix. Colonel Proctor was retired In November from the United States Air Force after spending the past few years in Germany and Spain, and with Mrs. Proctor and his family are now living on Orchard Home court., Major Rix, reserve officer in the United States Marine corps, and Mrs. Rix live on Mt. Pitt avenue. F B A W b t X ! Mrs. Robert Hood (at left) and Mrs. Gordon Mackenzie, president of, Medford Branch, American Association of University Women, helped decorate the Red Cross auditorium Wednesday for a party given that night by the branch. The two women are shown , arranging the colorful posters from foreign countries which bore Christmas messages in the various languages. Major Douglas Coleman, retired United States Air Force officer, and Mrs- Coleman were among the guests at the recent Military Ball. Naylor, Central Point, Mrs. Naylor (at left) and Mrs. Bruse. The Bruses raise orchids as a hobby, and the one pinned to Mrs. Bruse'i purse it from their greenhouse. i i x A
