The recent 'investiga tions of the drug industry by the Senate committee head ed by Sen. Estes Kefauver were particularly critical of the promotions and advertis ing by drug companies direct ed to the medical profession. Scope, a, medical weekly supported by the Upjohn coin many of Kalamazoo, Mich., will be discontinued the end of this month. It has been published since Jan. 1, 1056 and this year was received without charge by 175,000 physicians. According to Ad vertising Age, Scope had an annual operating budget of $1,500,000, supplied by t h e Upjohn company. Support Withdrawn CIBA support for Medical already has been discontin ued. Present plans are to at tempt to continue publication on a subscription basis, but CIBA outlay for Medical News has been $500,000 annually INDIAN SOLDIERS Washington-More than 25, 000 American Indians were in the United States armed for ces during World War II.
