Jack Herbert McCandliss. 37 1 . p.mx.1 Improvements Are Planned On Trail Along Rogue River Extensive improvements on a 20-mile stretch of the Rogue River trail between Mt. Reu ben rd., and Tucker flat are being considered, according to Robert Hostetter, Medford, assistant district manager of the bureau of land manage ment. As soon as funds become available, Hostetter said, the BLM will replace trail around slides, eliminate some of the steepest trails, and make ad ditional corrections. Work is expected to be done in the spring and summer of 1962. Limited Work Done It was . explained that, in recent years, limited work on the trail had been done to keep it open for fire protec tion and limited hiking. At the present, , however, . the route is not substantial for pack animals, he continued. BLM interest in develop ing the section of trail cen ters around the attraction of many hikers.
