Henry Wong, Lakevlew. The evening meal was served by a number of women from the local congregation, Mrs. Clarence Christiansen in charge. Loyalty Month Event To Be Observed "Laymen's Sunday," one of the special day observances during Loyalty Month, will be observed Sunday morning at the First Christian church. The Rev. The youth choir will sing the spiritual "Tramping" at the first service. Central Point, Sunday will strive to have 100 per cent attendance, according to' Au- brey Stith, superintendent. Coch ran, who is now on home as signment after having served for 10 years in Mosul, Iraq, and two years' in Beirut, Le banon, will be guest speaker at the Westminster Presby terian church Sunday morn- ing. . - '... During most of his .years in Mosul, he was the only Christian missionary in the city of. 180,000 people and established a church, which continues its work there. In September, 1058, the Iraqi government asked many of the missionaries In the coun try to leave and Mr. and Mrs, Cochran went to Lebanon where he has done evangel istlc work at the Hamlin hos pital for chest diseases. South Umpqua Church. To Hear . Speaker . Tiller-A guest speaker from Chico, Calif., is scheduled Sunday at the South Umpqua church. Last Sunday the Rev. Peter Becker, Salem, and the Rev. Paul Goddard, Roseburg, were in charge of the service. The two men are missionaries affiliated with the American Union Sunday schools of which the Tiller church Is a I memoer. ELDER H. W. HUNTER On Mission Tour Foursquare to Hold Services In New Building , The Foursquare church will hold services Sunday at their new location, 2200 Roberts rd. They had to vacate their building on Biddle rd. at East Jackson st. by Oct. 15 as it is in the right of way for the new Pacific freeway. Mrs. Loyd Rasmussen, perintendent, will announce a new program that will be held the next five Sundays, The theme will ;be "Calling You to Worship." .... Investment Sale Set by Adventisls The annual Sabbath School Investment sale by the Sab bath ' . School department of the Valley View Seventh-day Adventist church will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pathfinder club house on the Rogue River Academy grounds. A variety of . items donated by the members will be offer ed for sale. Whatever is left will be auctioned at the close of the evening by Marty Bar nett. .v v. ' Investment secretary, Mrs. Dewey Penrod, Talent,, said there would be baked goods, hobby section and other articles for sale. Members are to take pen nies for investment to be used in a penny game. Proceeds from the sale will be added to the Sabbath School Investment fund which is a part of the offer ings given for missions. There are over ,200 members in .the Valley View Sabbath School, and this year's Investment goal is $1,200. Over $1,000 was given last year, Mrs. Penrod said. R. E. Cull, pastor.- Included in the evangelistic team are the Rev. and Mrs. Ray Wilson Sr., and their two sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. and Mrs. Ray Wilson Jr. and the Rev. and Mrs. Roy Wilson. The evangelists have been active in the southern California area for some years and recently moved to Grants Pass. The Rev. Ray Wilson Jr. is now pastor of the Shann Creek Community church near Grants Pass. Music will be presented by the evangelists prior '.to the preaching service, consisting of vocal quartets and trios.
