subject. This was led by Bob
Haworth, Medford and In
cluded, Merrltt Schilling,

from Grants Pass, Roseburg
and Lakevlew. The closing
devotion was conducted by the
Rev. Henry Wong, Lakevlew.
The evening meal was served
by a number of women from
the local congregation, Mrs.
Clarence Christiansen in

The Rev. Richard J. Coch
ran, who is now on home as
signment after having served
for 10 years in Mosul, Iraq,
and two years' in Beirut, Le
banon, will be guest speaker
at the Westminster Presby

During most of his .years
in Mosul, he was the only
Christian missionary in the
city of. 180,000 people and
established a church, which
continues its work there. In
September, 1058, the Iraqi
government asked many of
the missionaries In the coun
try to leave and Mr. and Mrs,
Cochran went to Lebanon
where he has done evangel
istlc work at the Hamlin hos
pital for chest diseases.
Mr. Cochran will speak at

Boy Scout Charter
To Be Presented
"Fair ' To All Concerned"'
will be the sermon topic by
Dr. George Roseberry at the
First Methodist church in the
9:30 and 11 a.m. services Sun
day. The Boy Scout charter will
be presented for the church
sponsored Troop 7 and the
charter for the Explorer Post
7 at the 11 a.m. service. The
Scouts and their officers will
attend the service in a body
for the presentation. ,
The music for the services
will be a solo "Be Not Afraid"
sung by Miss Barbara Tyler.
The youth choir will sing "Ye
Watchers and Holy Ones at
the 9:30 a.m. service while the
chancel choir will sing "Go
Not Far From-Me" at. the 11
a.m. service:
The second session of the
School of Christian Living
will begin at 5:30 p.m. Sunday
with Dr. and ' Mrs. Milton

Congo Missionary
To Speak Sunday
The Rev. Brainerd Fraser,
missionary from the Congo,
will speak Sunday at the 7:30
p.m. service at Eastwood Bap
tist church. The . son of the
Rev. Leroy Fraser, minister
of Grants Pass First Baptist
church, Mr.- Fraser recently
returned from1 the Congo. He
was one of the missionaries
who had to be taken out of
the country by emergency air
lift. ' The Rev. Clifford Young,
minister of the church, and
four church members are at
tending the Oregon Baptist
convention in Salem which
will continue through Satur
day. . '.
