Bohan is reported to be a calm, steady artist, in marked contrast to Saint-Laurent, who suffered a nervous disorder soon after his Army induction. The group met Tuesday at the Girls Community club Guests attending included Mrs. Ralph Foster, president of Ashland Civic club, second vice-presfaent of the first dis trlct and a board member of tha Oregon federation, and Mrs. Mae Russell, secretary of the whland club. Mrs. Jack D. Brymmond, president, was in cMrge of a short business session. She an nounced, that a First district institute will be held October 20 at First Methodist church, . Medford. Mrs. Norman Wade ex plained the proposed leglsla '! tion which' Would prohibit signb8rds on Oregon high ways. Mrs. Lee described the trip she and her husband took this summer via Greyhound bus. They journeyed to Canada via Seattle and made many stops in the neighboring country. Highlights included visits to the Columbia icefields, the Elizabeth gardens" n Vancou ver, and the Butchart gardens near Victoria. Hostesses at the meeting were Mrs. rute Lindgren and Mrs. Carrie Walters. The club has planned a "Care" tea for the benefit of Latin American countries No vember 14. The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, Oc tober 25, at 1 p.m. in the Fire place room of the community club. Meeting Members of Talisman Temple, Pythian Sisters, will meet Tuesday, October 4, at 8 p.m. at he Knights of . Pythias hall. There will be a short entertainment. Serving on the refreshment commit tee will be Mrs. Renne Grosh, Mrs. Polly Offutt and Mrs. Don Anderson. Bethel Plans Candy Sale Bethel 14, International Or der of Job's Daughters, will meet Wednesday, October 5, In the Masonic temple at 7:30 p.m. AH choir members will attend a practice at 6:30 p.m., according to Clarence Smith, director. The annual candy sale of 0"gon Job's Daughters open ed Saturday, October 1, and wilQ:ontinue through October 17. Funds from the sale will be .used to continue the phil anthropic projects of the or ganization, according to Mrs. Ralph Nelson, Portland, grand guardian. These projects are Leukemia Fund,. scholarships, Asthma Foundation in Arizo na, and support of two chil dren through the Save the Children Foundation. Each Bethel will also re ceive an amount from the sale Of the candy to finance their projects. Reports will be given at the meeting of prog ress of the sale, Meetings Set By Garden Club Members of the board and 11 chairman of the Medford Garden club will attend a meeting at the home of the president, Mrs. Dayton De pue, 1010 Murray avenue, October 3, at 1:30 p.m. to make plans for the club year.
