They went to work with weathered fence rails, rocks and a couple of old wagon wheels and after many hours of hard work, had practically a new garden. Mrs. Mentzer planted dozens of petunias in pink, lavender and purple tones and the flowers have been a scQrce of pleasure to those who travel on busy Stage Road south, The Mentzers' sons, Arthur, 8, (at left) and Ronald, 6, stopped their Sat urday play long enough tojjose for Photographer rrtTr j' if t lllilllf ' ; I Medford's new art gallery, sponsored by Rogue Valley Art association. Is in need of an increased member ship to support its program and activities, and a larger list of workers to serve as volunteers 'when the gallery is open. During a coffee held Monday morning at the gallery, 220 West Main street, hostesses for October were assigned days and hours. Among the women attending were Mrs. Jay Pierce', (at left) who q took her hostess turn Tuesday afternoon, and Mrs. Gene M. Williams, member of the galiery committee. Brandt Bartels and their family. The Bartels bought a second-hand model end after much scraping, sanding and other preparation, painted the little car pink. The top and "curtains" are striped pink, yellow, green and ether awning colors, and the vehicle boasts of pink "wall to wall" carpeting. Roving around town for a picture of Interest, Photographer Robert Woman found a Medford mother and her small daughter In their yard at 109 South Orange street. While Mrs, Richard Frey raked and tidied the garden, two-year-old Vlcki Ann had a wonderful time playing with the rustling leaves which the early autumn sun and winds had brought down.
