Walt ers, 89 Vashti Way, to Gerald William Gaines, son of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Gaines, 2191 Kings highway, was an event of Saturday, August 6. The ceremony took place in First Church of the Nazarene, the church in which the bride groom's parents were married. The Rev. James Gordon of Mt. Pitt Church of the Naz arene read the double-ring service at three o'clock in the afternoon before approximate ly 125 guests, baskets of pink and white gladioli decorated the altar. Mrs. Arnold Thomas was soloist. Miss Judy Matheny, Jack sonville, was maid of honor. Serving as flower girls were Sandra Walters, sister of the bride; Trudy Woodhouse, Mer rill, cousin of the bride; Lori Souza, Jacksonville; and Wan da Cummons, the bride groom's cousin. Jeanne Cum mons lighted candles. The bride's gown was of white nylon over white satin, ballerina length, and her short veil was trimmed with pearls. Mr. Walters gave his daughter in marriage. Miss Matheny wore a gown of red lace over white satin and a red lace headband. Her bouquet was of white rose- buds. The flower girls wore dresses of white and pink ny lon with flower headbands. They carried pink rose nosegays. Mrs. Walters wore a pastel dotted Swiss frock with white accessories and a pink rose bud corsage. The bridegroom's mother chose a pastel blue chiffon frock with white ac cessories and a pink rosebud corsage. Gary Doyle, Redding, Calif., cousin of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Lonnie Walters, brother of the bride, and David Gaines, brother of the bridegroom. Mrs. Oscar Rylander, grand mother of the bride, and Mrs. James Dole, grandmother of the bridegroom, cut and served the wedding cake at me reception which followed. Mrs. Gary Walters poured punch; Mrs. Alba Comer poured coffee; and Mrs. Rich ard Souza and Mrs. Robert Misener were in charge of the gift table. Miss Rita McBeth attended the guest book. The knife used at the event was a gift from the bride's aunt, Mrs. George Walters, and bears the intitials of the newlyweds. The young couple traveled to the Lake of the Woods on their honeymoon and are mak ing their home at 1103 Sweet road. The bride was gradu ated from M e d f o r d High school last spring and the bridegroom was graduated in 1959. He is employed by Trail Creek Lumber company. For traveling the bride wore a tan suit with white ac cessories. A shower honoring the bride and bridegroom was given before their wedding by Mrs. James Dole, Mrs. Joe Thomas and Mrs. Roy Deutschman. Twenty -five guests attended. Another shower August ) was given for the bride by Mrs. Souza and Mrs. Misener. Betrothal News Announced Here Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. War- nock, 2009 Orchard Home drive, announce the engage ment of their daughter Col leen Ann, to Kenneth P. Struck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Struck, Prospect. Miss Warnock is a gradu ate of Mcdford High school and Southern Oregon college. She will teach in the Coos Bay school district this fall. Her fiance served in the United States Navy for four year and . attends Oregon Technical Institute where he will graduate in December. A December wedding is planned. H. Bar rell, 101 Grcenway drive, Medford to Thomas H. Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Tay lor, Crescent City, Calif. Miss Barrell, a graduate of Medford High school, will be graduated today from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Eugene. She will be employed at the hospital following her graduation. Mr. Taylor i.s a student at the University of Oregon and a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. A December wed ding is being planned by the young people. Mr. and Mrs. Barrell and their younger daughter, Mar cia, are in Eugene today to at tend the graduation ceremonies. Parties Honor Nancy McKeown; Rites Saturday Two showers honoring bride-to-be Miss Nancy Mc Keown were given last week prior to her wedding Satur day to Terry Grey Sherwood, Milwaukie. . She. is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. McKeown, 516 Willamette avenue, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. William E. Sher wood, 1020 Jasper street. Miss Mira Frohnmayer and her .mother, Mrs. Otto Frohn mayer, 1656 Spring street, were hostesses for a luncheon and kitchen shower honoring Miss McKeown last Wednes day. Guests were Miss Marilyn Olson, Miss Carol Hoist, Mrs. Ruth Foote. Mrs. William Sherwood, Mrs. Alan Budd, Mrs. Wayne Jamison and daughter, Mrs. John Corson, Mrs. Frank McKeown and daughter, Carol, and Miss Su zanne Smith. A miscellaneous shower was given Thursday evening by Miss Sonja Peterson and her mother, Mrs. Emil Peter son, Jacksonville highway. Miss Peterson was maid of honor at the wedding.
