Rog ers has announced that FBI agents will investigate a se ries of five bombings in mixed white-Negro neighborhoods in Chattanooga, Tenn. Wall Street Chatter New York - (UPD - James F. Hughes of Auchincloss, Par ker and Redpath says there are ample technical reasons, based on past experience, for the market to continue its re cent recovery. Within the next week or so It is possible that the upward trend could run into an inter esting technical test if the breadth index exceeds its June high without confirma tion by the industrial aver age. Hughes believes this could provide a signal for a techni cal correction that might last for several weeks. However, he adds, with business holding merely firm over the next few months, the market might well do very much better than it did during the first half of the year. Bache and Co. reports that American Broadcasting-Paramount and Phillip Morris both have "exceptional" technical positions, and expects further short term gains here. Pea body Coal appears to be at tracting a larger following, Bache adds. Kenneth Ward of Hayden, Stone and Co. has a list of stocks he believes still point to higher levels including: Decca Records, Garrett Corp., E. J. Korvette, North Ameri can Aviation, Spiegel, McDon nell Aircraft, MGM and In spiration Copper. While the business picture is not outstandingly encour aging, there are enough bull ish factors present to overbal ance the seemingly pessimistic attitude which prevailed throughout the summer, ac cording to Thomas and Mc-Kinnon.
