Army Reservists To Leave For Active Duty Training Approximately 75 Medford men will depart by chartered and commercial aircraft Sun day morning to participate in the annual active duty train ing ot Fort Ord, Calif, Specific units involved in clude headquarters company, second battalion, 414th regi ment, basic combat training and receiving company, 104th Training Division. The men are part of the nearly. 2,000 Oregon and Washington men of the 104th Army Reserve training divi sion who will undergo the an nual two week active duty training. Qualified as personnel spe cialists and cooks, the train ing company will work in the Ft. Ord reception station. The 104th was reorganized one year ago with the respon sibility, in event of mobiliza tion, of training large num bers of recruits in basic com bat techniques and advanced individual training in a short time. In preparation for this mis sion, the Timberwolf Division will, on the first time in its history, conduct its active duty tour at Ft. Ord, Calif., one of the largest infantry centers in the West. Air Line Pilots Reach Agreement Portland -4UPD- A settlement has been reached here be tween the Air Line Pilots as sociation and Hawaiian Air lines, averting a threatened strike by the ALP A. Terms of the settlement covered wages, rules and working conditions. The agreement was reached with the help of Robert O. Boyd, Portland attorney with the National Mediation Service. The service interceded when the ALPA set a July strike deadline, and Portland was se lected as a neutral ground for discussions. Woodsman Killed Near Grants Pass Grants Pass-IUPD-Dan Gar cia, about 25, was killed Thursday afternoon when a cable broke, snapped around and crushed his chest while he was loading logs onto a truck about 25 miles northeast of : Grants Pass on Grays Creek.
