Little Switzerland. The schedule calls for day camp activities August 15, 16, 17 and 18; and again on August 22, 23, 24 and i 25. Buses wil provide transpor tation under the following schedule: Oakgrove school, 8 a.m.; Medford library, 8:15 a.m.; Roosevelt school, 8:30 a.m., and from the corner of Main street and Valley View drive, 8:35 a.m. Camp activities will be con eluded and the bus leave Little Switzerland at 2:30 p.m. and will return campers to the pick up spots about 3 p.m. Mrs. W. W. Brawn of the Girl Scout day camp commit tee states that it is Imperative the girls be on time. Each girl is to take a sack lunch. -t ACBL Play Announced A master point game spon sored by the American Con tract Bridge league will be held Saturday, August 13, at Girls Community club. A number of out-of-town players were on hand for Tuesday's meeting of Medford Duplicate Bridge league. They were Mrs. Homer Whit ford, Bremerton, Wash.; Mil lard Allen and Folger John son, Portland; and Terry Whitford, Ashland. Eleven tables of players took part. North-south winners were Mrs. Berg Marten and Mrs. Frank Baker, first, 142 points; Mrs. W. W. Stevenson and Raymond Wise, second, 116V4; Mrs. Ben Todd and Mr. Mar ten tied for third with Mrs. Roy Kelm and Mrs. George Dean, each couple scoring 111V4 points; Mrs. Sam Van Dyke and Jim Morgan were fourth with 113 points. Culbertson Jr., and their daughter. Karen Culbertson. 2615 Hillcrest road. Dr. Poling talked informally about the college. Trail Riders To Hold Picnic Medford Trail Riders will hold a picnic and business meeting Saturday, August 13, at Jackson Hot Springs. The event is set for 7 p.m. Those ttending are to take picnic food and table service. The picnic Is for both mem bers and prospective members. Detergent Advised for Grass Stain Removal Ithaca, N. Y. - (UPI) - With summer here can grass stains be far behind? Grass stains can be difficult to remove from clothing, but specialists at the New York State College of Home Eco nomics, Cornell University, suggested a treatment that usually does the trick. Try lubricating the stain with a mild liquid detergent, or a soaplcss shampoo, they say. Simply rub the detergent or shampoo into the spot and leave it for one - half hour. Then work the spot with your fingers, or a brush, and rinse it in clear water. The specialists cautioned against using soap, because the alkali In soap may set the grass stain. Oregon State College BITE Meeting Held in Medford Oregon Slate college alum ni, their parents and students interested in, or already at tending the school held the annual BITE-Bcaver Invita tion meeting recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Culbertson Jr., 2615 Hill crest road. The Culbertson's daughter, Miss Karen Culbertson, Is county chairman for BITE this year. The group was welcomed by Miss Marianne Samuelson, Medford chairman. Dean Dan Poling, dean of men at Oregon State college, spoke briefly. He commented that OSC offers a great deal for entering freshmen stu dents, and stated that students are Judged by "what they pro duce regardless of where they live a coopertlvc living house, a dormitory, a frater nity or sorority house," The dean explained that an advisor is appointed for each entering freshman, and that these advisors aid the fresh man to adjust to college life. Students should consult their advisors about all problems, he stated. "Oregon Slate college is For The Cookout New York (UP1V Launch the barbecue season with short or der olive "kabobecues." Elks To Open Cocktail Room Medford Elks lodge has an nounced the opening of a new cocktail lounge Saturday, Au gust 13 at 7 p.m. Known as the Esquire room, the lounge and the unique, decor were planned by the lodge secre tary, Richard G. Phair. The lounge is located in the base ment, with entrance off Cen tral avenue. Mr. Phair states that the Esquire room will be open to Elks and their invited guests only each day beginning at 4 p.m. with the exception of Sundays and Thursdays. Luncheon was served at one o'clock at a table centered with pink and orchid colored gladiolus and blue candles. The bride-to-be presented the maid-of-honor and bridesmaids with' gifts. Harpsichordist, Violinist To Give Festival Concert Ashland-Stanley Plummer, harpsichordist from Whitman college in Walla Walla, Wash., and Richard D. Werner, vio linist from Medford will be featured in the third Oregon Shakespearean Festival Sun day concert Sunday, August 14, at 4:30 p.m. at the Festival theatre. Mr. Plummer, who is also a composer and instructor of organ at Whitman college, has done extensive concert work on the West Coast and ap peared in concert here last year. Mr. Werner, who is origi nally from New York City, has played with Eugene Or mandy and the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra. He is also a composer and conduc tor of the Philharmonic Soci ety of Southern Oregon. The concert will consist of chamber music, with numbers on the program including: "Pastrole Trio" by Vivaldi for violin, cello, and harpsichord; "Trio" by Michael Hayden for violin, cello and contra bass; "Concerto for Violin, Cello, and Harpsichord," by Tellemann; and "Batti, Batti, O Bell Masetto" from Don Gi ovanni by Mozart, sung by Miss Sabine Phelps of the Fes tival Singers with violin, cello and harpsichord, and contra bass accompaniment. Mr. Plummer will also be featured as a soloist. Miss Lynn Sohler of the Festival Musicians will play the contra-bass. W. Bernard Windt, festival music director, will play the cello. i Bethel Invited To Swim Party Members of Bethel 14, In ternational Order of Job's Daughters, are invited' to be the guests of Bethel 13, Grants Pass, for a swim party and picnic on Wednesday, Au gust 17. Slates Meeting . The monthly business meet ing of the Jackson Council of the Blind will be held Sun day, August 14 beginning at 2 p.m. in the Guild Hall of St. Mark's church, Fifth and Oakdale avenues. Important business is on the agenda, Ron Warner, president of the local chapter, states. Light refreshments will be served and the usual social hour will follow the 'business meeting.
