(Knacktledt photo) Gingcrich-Babcock Rites Held in Ashland Church Ashland - Miss Kay Fran ces Babcock became the bride of Mclvin W. Gingcrich, Tal ent, in a ceremony held July 8 at First Church of Christ, Ashland, with the Rev. James Sinclair officiating. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Floyd E. Babcock, 586 B street. Ashland. Jake Gin gcrich, Talent, is the father of the bridegroom. Pink and while gladioli and Ivy decorated the church for the rites attended by 85 rel ntives and friends. Miss Lin da Smith played the organ wedding music for the 8 o'clock evening ceremony. The bride wor a white bal lerina length gown. Her veil was fingertip length and she carried pink rosebuds encir cling a while orchid on a while Bible. Mr. Babcock Rave his daughter in mar riage. Miss Fay Lucille Babcock was maid of honor for her twin sister. She wore a pink ballerina length frock with pink veil and carried a bou quet of pink gladioli. Connie Bailey, Talent, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl. Robert L. Hoffman, Talent, served as best man. and seat ing the guests were Paul Con ner. Talent, and Edward Gib son. Curtis Lowden, Talent, nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer. ' Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Babcock home. The couple traveled lo the Oregon and California coasts on their wedding trip, the bride wearing for traveling a white suit with turquoise blue accessories. The bride is a graduate of Ashland High school and is attending Mcdford Beauty school. Mr. Gingcrich Is a graduate of Talent High school and is stationed with the Army Engineers at Ft. Lewis, Wash. Among the out of town uesU were Mrs. Stella Bab 4 r' cock, While Salmon, Wash., grandmother of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Amos Holmun, Klickitat, Wash., Mr. and Mrs. Homer Babcock, Glen wood, Wash., unclos and aunls of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Poole, Eureka, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lee and son, Tommy, Elmonte, Calif., uncles and aunts of the bride groom, and Mr. and Mrs. John Cooke, Eureka, Calif, cousins of the bridegroom. Family Leaves Mrs. Robert Squires and daughters, Stephanie and Mol ly, Omaha. Neb., have left Medford after visiting here with Mrs. Squires' mother, Mrs. V c r n D. Brophy, 749 West Fourteenth street. From here the three went to Bellingham, Wash., where they lived for many years be fore going to Nebraska. They will be joined there by Mr. Squires. DOROTHY G RAY HUDSON'S PHARMACY 613 East Main Dkrahf-Day An event of Saturday, July 30, was the wedding of Miss Verity Louise Day to Edward John Dierauf Jr. of Berkeley, Calif. The ceremony was sol emnized at two o clock in the afternoon at Sacred Heart Catholic church, with the Rev. John lie officiating. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Benjamin Day Jr., Gold Rey, Cent-al Point, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. cawara J. Dierauf, Tenafly, N, J. Bruno Pellegrini played the wedding music, and the church was decorated with white yellow - centered dais ies. The bride wore a simply- designed gown of white taf feta trimmed with appliques of lace on the short sleeves and at the neckline, and with wide bands of tucking around the ankle-length skirt. Her short net veil was held by a chaplet of stephanotis and she carried a bouquet of these flowers. Miss Susan Robin Day was honor attendant for her sis ter, and bridesmaids were Miss Ann Morton, Palo Alto, Calif., and Miss Dianne Day, Astoria. Ore., another sister. They wore taffeta frocks of pale green and silver ana bows of ribbon on their hair. The honor attendant carried white inarguerites, and the bridesmaids' bouquets were yellow marguerites. Gardiner was hostess for a lea Satur day afternoon at her home at 3777 Old Military Road. Guests were a group of wo men employees ot the Califor nia-Oregon Power company, and California Pacific Utili ties. The decorations were them ed to the contemporary Or iental decor of the Gardiner's home, and the tea table center piece was of pink and white gladiolus and carnations. Pouring were Mrs. Gladys Gardner, Ashland, Mrs. Flor ence Lance and Mrs. Ernest Ross. About 50 guests attend ed. To Leave Seth M. Bullis, 15 Florence avenue, plans to leave Thurs day, August 11, from San Francisco for Washington, D. C, where he will visit his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Parsons, Falls Church, Va. Among the guests were the bride's two grandfather's Guy Conner, Portland, and Ear Benjamin Day, Blue Moon ranch, Central Point. Mr. Con ner, who lived in Jackson county until 1942, came here In 1912. The Earl Day family arived in Sams Valley in 1914. The bride was born in Med ford and grew up at the Day's ranch in Sams Valley. Others who came from a distance for the wedding were the bride's sister-in-law, Mrs. Christopher Day, who came Parties Honor Bridal Couple; Rites Saturday Miss Marilyn Mullen, whose wedding to John Nel son Snowden was set for late Saturday afternoon at First Methodist church, was honor ed at a number of parties in recent days. A bridal shower was given by Mrs. F. T. Haupert and Mrs. Raymond Mencke at the Haupert home, 222 Valley View drive, Wednesday eve ning. Eighteen guests attend ed. The Haupert home was dec orated in pink and white for the event, and ribbons from a pink and white umbrella led to Miss Mullen's gifts, placed about the rooms. White bells and garden flowers completed the decor. Miss Mullen, Mr. Snow den and members of the wed ding party were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Buff ington at their home on Campbell road Thursday eve ning. Out-of-town guests and the wedding party attended a din ner given Friday evening by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. B. He Pi Phis Plan Dinner Tuesday Alumni and active mem bers of Pi "Beta Phi, national social sorority, will meet for dinner at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, at the home of Mrs. H. C. Massinger, 1017 South Peach st., Medford. This summer meeting, which has become an annual affair, is for members of the sorority who reside in the Medford-Ashland area.
