Petlcgrcw, who has been member of the , Mcdtord post office staff for : 28 years, will retire July 31. ' For mora than a decade, ' Petlegrew has had the down town parcel post route, deliv ering packages to most of the Mcdford stores. For two years during World War II. Petto grew took leave of the post offlco to operate a dairy farm as part of the war effort. Prior to the war he carried a foot route. Mr. and Mrs. Petlegrew live at 1488 Spring it., and Pettcgrew Intends to devote considerable lime to their place. A certificate of recognition of long and faithful service was presented to Pcttegrcw from Poslmnster General Ar thur Summcrttcld and S. G. Schwartz, regional operations director. Schwartz added a personal loiter of commenda tion and appreciation. Supervisors and fellow workmen at the Mcdford post office voiced praise for Petle grew. Seven Hospitalized After 3-Car Crash Snlem (UPB - Three cars col lided on Salem's south Liber ty road Thursday night, send ing seven persons to the hos pital. The Injured included Charles Morgan, 16, driver of one of the cars; his 14-year old brother, Keith; Hubert Harris and Arthur Wcnstrom, both 16, all of Salem. Those hurt In the second nulo were Mrs. Vesta Dunn; Mariorle Dunn, and 7-year- old Diane Shaffer, also all of Salem. In the third car, H. W. Fasching, 60, and his wife escaped Injury.
