The resolution opposing the postofiice move read as fol lows: "Members of ONPA at an nual convention at Seaside July 15, 1960, strongly pro test the proposal to move the regional postofflec from Port land to Seattle. It cannot be Justified in the interests of efficiency and economy in as much as Portland Is centrally and advantageously located within the district. It would bring greatly increased costs considering the fact that the present office occupies rent free quarters, It would uproot 100 postal families accounting for 400 dependents and 145 home ownerships resulting In greater hardships than sever ing of community tics. It would add further to the already disproportionate al location of federal expendi tures, Institutions and employ ment In favor of Washington as compared to Oregon. Rath er than move the office from Portland it is urgently re quested that the small postal unit in Seattle be transferred to rent-free quarters in Port land to correct the split oper otlons mentioned in a recent ywwui Jin fx X- HOFFA CRITIC Martin F O'Donoghue (shown here in a 1057 photo), chairman of the Teamsters board of monitors, quit July 15 with a broadside criticism against union presi dent James Hoffa.
