Klamath Falls police have 'dentlfled the victims ns Mrs. .Cthel Rivhurdson, 65, Salem, and Karen Crowley, 13. Officers said the car went out of control at the inter section of the hlghsvay and Main st, here and crashed over an embankment into the lake. Both victims were be lieved to have drowned. Volunteers dived to the car, which was submenicd In about IS feet of water, and were able to pull the girl out. But the woman was still in the vehicle when it was lifted from the lake. The Medical by Roundup BmtritUB ContultAnt in Mtlcln Mtya CUMe Bmarttai Prnfrttui at UcdlCtM Mavn CUmla tht A Treatment for Nodular and Painful Breasts Many an unhappy woman writes to say she is terribly worried and upset because one of her breasts is oft en painful and sore, and every so often a lump forms in it. Then, the doctor cuts it out. But as the last woman whose or AiTirn letter came in today said, "I have now had four such lumps cut out, and I am fed-up with operations. My husband is getting fed-up with the expense, and my constant complaining. What can I do?" As I said a while ago, in these cases in which one or both breasts is full of cysts the best operation I have seen is one in which the sur geon cuts along the crease at the lower margin ot the af fected breast; lifts the breast up, and cuts out all the breast tissue, leaving the skin and fat and nipple. With this, the pain is gone, together with all the former worry about cancer. Some People Who Love Gibberish One of the most remark able phenomena to be met with, even in some university circles, is the "worship of the unintelligible." Many a man, even with a degree from a graduate school, feels that if he cannot understand what a famous man says, this only proves how far above him in wisdom the unintelligible pro fessor is. As I have shown be fore in this column, some psychoanalysts are particular ly likely to worship at the feet of a man who is so stupid that no one can do more than guess what he was trying to say. I thought of this the other day as I tried to read the special Memorial Lecture giv en in this country by an in ternationally famous man who was brought at great ex pense from Europe to give us the latest ideas on psycho analysis. Here is just one sen tence I picked at random from his lecture. Readers who know the "patter" of the analysts will be able to guess what the poor fellow was stumbling around trying to say; other readers will be just bewildered; and few may say, "Because I cannot under stand this fellow he must be one of the greatest philoso phers of our time. Distortion Shown This is what I read: "The transference phenomena show us the distortion of our per ceptual processes relating to persons in the present by drawing without awareness upon experiences of the past. Transference, like resistance and repression, affects the re fraction of our mental organ of apperception. "It is the emotional appre ciation that a transference has occurred that a reproduction of a consciously lost emotion al relationship to persons of the past has intruded, which it is so essential Tor the fu ture analytic therapist to ex perience for himself." Doubtless the men who spent a few thousand dollars to bring over to America this expounder of wisdom felt richly rewarded. Sect Remains In Bombshelters Benson, Ariz. - IUPD - All was quiet today around the bomb shelters where some 120 members of a small re ligious sect are hiding in fear of a nuclear holocaust. It was the eighth day the men, women and children of the Full Gospel Assembly have passed in the under ground shelters they built themselves. Indications were they might stay underground for as long as 32 more days. "The Lord told us there woula be an attack," accord ing to Glen Scott, one of the cult's leaders. "Like Noah, we lean stay in 40 days. The Lord told us to go in and the Lord will tell us when to come out." Strange As It Seems l,sl1 Hl Tem '"'K!TWIJtL . ,.av wr Alii.
