Medford Yankees seek to keep their unbeaten status. They host the Central Point Stars. Medford Giants play at Ashland Cardinals and Ash land Dodgers at Central Point Rams. Friday contention in the loop will have Ashland Dodgers at Medford Giants, Medford Yankees at Central Point Rams and Central Point Stars at Ashland Cardinals. In last Friday's tussles the Yanks tripped the Dodgers 6 to 2 and the Giants edged the Stars 7 to 5. ' Pee Wee loop games this Tuesday in the southern divi sion will have Central Point Indians at Ashland Bears and Ashland Cubs at Medford Ti gers. On Thursday the Ash land Cubs and Bears are riv als and Medford Wildcats and Tigers vie. Eagle Point plays at Central Point Braves in the northern division on Thurs day. Eagles Play Crater Cuba In the Cub league oa Wed nesday Eagle Point will be guest of the Central Point Crater Cubs. Central Point Mustangs will have a non league brush against Medford. . Medford's Yankee interme diates on Friday gained all six of their runs without a hit in the fifth inning with four walks, an error on a sacrifice and two dropped flies in the outfield. David Barger, pitch ing for the Dodgers, was touched for just two hits, by Dan Miles and Mike Neat- hamer. John Rhodes, Jim Pearson and Steve Clark rapped two hits each for Ash land. The Giants collected two runs in the seventh frame for their victory margin on four bases on balls and a hit by Ken Eckel. Larry Mason, pitching for the Stars, whiffed batters 15 times but issued eight walks. Medford's Rick Newland walked five and fanned five. Whit Sox Edge Indians Meanwhile, the red-hot Chi cago White Sox defeated the Cleveland Indians for the Reds Trip Braves; Giants Lose Again By United Press International Finch-hitter Dutch Dotterer singled across the winning run in the 10th inning Satur day to pin a 6-5 defeat on the Milwaukee Braves and break a five-game Cincinnati Reds' losing streak. Dotterer s single off Warren Spahn drove across Frank Robinson, who had singled and moved to second on a base on balls to Ed Bailey. The hit gave Spahn his sixth loss against eight vic tories after he had entered the game in the ninth inning when the Reds tied the score, 5-5. Bob Grim picked up the vic tory as the pitcher of record in the ninth, but it was Bill Henry who retired the Braves in order in their half of the tenth. Another pinch-hitter, Wil lie Jones, drove in the tying run in the ninth for the Reds off Ron Piche, the second Mil waukee relief pitcher; Don Nottebart, who relieved start er George Brunet, walked pinch-hitter Harry Anderson and after pitching two balls to Jones, was replaced by Piche. Robinson Homer The Reds had Jumped to a 3-0 lead with one run in the second inning and back-to-back homers by Wally Post and Frank Robinson in the fourth, but the Braves knot ted it with three runs in the fifth off Reds' starter Don Newcombe. The three -run Milwaukee inning was capped by rookie second baseman Chuck Cot tier's first major league homer with Johnny Logan on base. The Braves added one run in the sixth on Billy Bruton's single, a sacrifice and Henry Aaron s single, and tnen pusn- Grants Pass Victor In Medford Relays A disqualification in the final Avpnt nf the dav. of a North Bend relay team, gave Grants Pass tne winning mar gin in the first annual Med ford Relays swimming meet held at Hawthorne park" pool yesterday. The margin victory was eight points. Grants Pass had 276 and North Bend gained 268. Medford was a distant third with 204 points. North Bend tallied 15 firsts in the 29 events, Grants Pass tallied only four firsts, but took the meet on the consis tent second places. The Cave men placed two and three teams in many events. Ernie Banks homered in the 12th inning to break a 6-6 tie and give the Chicago Cubs a 7-6 victory over the flounder ing San Francisco Giants. Fine relief pitching by Don Elston from the sixth inning on also helped the Cubs send the Giants down to their fifth straight defeat. Antonelli Gets Loss The Giants built a 6-3 lead by the fourth inning after knocking out Dick Ellsworth. But the Cubs scored three times in the seventh off Stu Miller and Johnny Antonelli and then turned the game over to Elston. Antonelli was tagged with the loss, his sixth against only three victories. Elston picked up his fifth victory in nine decisions when Banks hammered his 26th homer into the teeth of a hard wind blowing in from left field. Gil Smith, Grants Pass, won the 75 yard dash and the low hurdles, in tho 15-16 years of age group. Wayne Cowan, Medford, won the shot put and discus and Vcrn Swan son, Central Point, the 220- yard dash and the high Jump, Jay Corey, Ashland, took all the glory in tho boys 10 and other events. He won all seven contests. Lloyd Zachiir 1ns, Medford, was a four-event winner in the 11 and 12 cate gory and Curt Smith won the other three events. BUI Mills, Klamath Falls, captured five tests in the 13 and 14 bracket and Dale Beare, Medford, was victor in two, Doris Johnson was a triple winner in the girls 10 and un der division and Danl Bulk- ley claimed two blue ribbons.
