Japanese Demand Kishi Resignation Tokyo - OIPll - Tens of thou sands of demonstrators march ed on the Japanese Parlia ment (Diet) building Saturday demanding Immediate resig nation of Prime Minister No busuko Kishl, new elections and renunciation of the U.S. Japnn security treaty. The demonstrators carry ing placards reading "Go home Americans" and "Wo want a socialist prime minis ter" - also milled outside the prime minister's official resi dence and the metropolitan police department headquar ters. The throng then spilled In to the congested downtown area, of Tokyo, blocking traf fic for several hours in 84 degrec weather. There were no reports of violence. Dominican Armed Forces Engaged In Maneuvers Ciudad Trujillo, Dominican Republic - Wit - The Domini can army, navy and air force Saturday were reported car rying out extensive military maneuvers, including the test- firing of "guided missiles. The republic officially was proclaimed in a state of na tional emergency. President Gen. Hector B. Trujillo signed into law the proclamation passed by con gress after he charged that Venezuela was preparing a movement against the Domini can Republic leading to war. Venezuela broke off diplo matic relations with the Do minican governmental earlier this year, accusing it of inter ference in Venezuelan inter nal affairs. Tensions Heightened The tensions were heighten ed recently by Venezuelan charges that the Trujillo re gime was implicated in the attempted assassination o f President Romulo Bctancourt last week and an abortive short-lived revolt earlier. Four ship9 carrying infan trymen and artillery sailed Friday from the Dominican naval base of Calderas for an undisclosed destination. A naval spokesman said the movement was "routine ma neuvers." Today, army, navy and air force troops carrying weapons and other military equipment were seen in the streets of Ciudad Trujillo. The ministry of armed forces said the troop movement is part of "big mili tary maneuvers" and urged the population not to be alarmed. Dr. Moore Sees Washington Sights Washington (UPD - Dr. Bar bara Moore hoofed her way around the tourist sights of Washington Saturday, then trudged back to the highway to continue her footsore 3,000 milc cross-country hike. The Russian-born British woman was still setting a brisk pace as she headed for Baltimore and New York City on U. S. highway 1. She be gan her hike from San Fran cisco on April 30. Many fellow sightseers here recognized the 56 - year - old woman as she stopped in front of the White House, then swung up Pennsylvania ave. to the Capitol. A platoon of reporters and photographers accompanied her on her four-mile-an-hour walk through the city. D. D. Randall of the American Sunday School Union will officiate. Commit tal will be in Hillcrcst Me morial park, with Conger Morris, funeral directors, in charge. Mr. Vanderpool was born Feb. 9, 1901, in Cassvillc, Mo., and had lived in Medford since 1945. He was married Oct. 24, 1922, in Eureka Springs, Ark., to Frances Beaver, who survives. Other survivors include three sons, Earl E. Vander pool, Ulysses, Kans.; and James A. Vanderpool s n d Carl A. Vanderpool, Medford; four brothers, Richard Van derpool, Springfield, Mo.; An drew Vanderpool, in Arkans as; John Vanderpool, Monctt, Mo.; and Lloyd Vandcrpool, Medford; three sisters, Mrs. Viola Justis, Clinton, Mo.; Mrs. Crcssie Gebhart, Selig man, Mo.; and Mrs. Mabel Pyles, Eureka Springs, Ark.; and six grandchildren. DILLIE NAUMES Recitation of the Holy Ros ary for Mrs. Dillie Nevins Naumcs, 81, who died at her residence at 1001 South Oak dale ave., Thursday, will be held at Perl Funeral home Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Requeim mass will be from the Sacred Heart church Wednesday at 10 a.m. Committal will be at the Siskiyou Memorial park. Mrs. Naumes was born Feb. 28, 1879, in Highland Park, 111., and moved to Hood River, Ore., in 1910 and to Medford in 1929. She was a member of the Grey Ladies, the Providence Guild, and a past president of St. Anne's Altar Society. Her husband, J. P. Naumes, precccded her in death in 1953, and a son, Carl, died in Hood River. HERMAN SCHUETTE Graveside services for Her man Schuette, 80, who died at Marysville, Calif., Wednes day, will be held at the Med ford IOOF cemetery Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. John Ilg will officiate. Mr. Schuette was born July 15, 1879, in Quincy, 111., and was a resident of the Talent and Medford area for 50 years. The last 10 years he had been a resident of the Marysville, Calif., area. Survivors include two nieces, and five nephews, all in California. Perl Funeral home is in charge of local arrangements. Lucille Ball Ordered To Take 10-Day Rest Hollywood (UPD - Lucille Ball, injured in a fall on a movie set, was ordered Satur day to rest for a week to 10 days before returning to work on the film "The Facts of Life." The comedienne received painful facial and leg bruises when she tripped boarding a boat for a scene with co-star Bob Hope Friday. It urged in a formal note that the Reds end their walkout and resume "serious negotiations." Tone of the note was com paratively mild although it termed the walkout of the Soviet delegation and four Communist satellites "par ticularly surprising and re grettable." It said the Western allies remain ready to resume talks. Esso Refinery in Cuba Paralyzed ' Havana-(UPD-A government spokesman said Saturday the giant ESSO refinery has been totally paralyzed by lack of crude oil supplies since short ly after seizure of the American-owned plant by the re gime of Premier Fidel Castro. Castro seized the American owned refinery of the Stand ard Oil Company of New Jersey and that of the Anglo Dutch Shell Oil company Fri day for refusing to refine Russian crude oil. The American-owned Texaco Oil com pany refinery was taken over earlier in the week on similar grounds. The Texaco and Shell re fineries were reported operat ing on schedule. SPECTATORS INJURED Dallas, Tcx.-IUPD-The rear axle snapped on a stock car in a race at Devil's Bowl Speedway Friday night and sent a loose wheel hurtling Into a group of spectators at 70 miles per hour. Nine per sons were Injured, one of them critically. The race crowd almost immediately poured out of the grandstand for a better look and trampled one of the victims.
