0 MEDFORD MAIL TRIBUNE. MEDFORD, ORE. 10 C Mr. and Mri. Chsrlei T. Nahs 50th Wedding Anniversary Observed by C. T. Nahsses Eagle Point - The 50th wed ding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Nahss was celebrated Sunday, June 5 at an open house reception at their home on Nick Young road, Eagle Point. Hosts for the event were their children and families, Mr. and Mrs. Gene N. Savage and sons, Gary and Charles, Raymond, Was h.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nahss and sons, Bob, Jack and David, Med ford, and Mr. and Mrs. Ira Connor and son, Ira, Eagle point. About 85 guests called in cluding Mr. Nahss's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Schonz and Jay Sawne, Oakland, Calif. Mr Schonz and Mrs. Walter Frick, a niece of Mrs. Nahss, were guests at the wedding in 1010. Mrs. Earl Green and Mrs. Frick poured and Mrs. Roy Commons cut and served the anniversary cake. Charles Savage was in charge of the golden anniversary book and Mrs. Henry Nahss was in charge of the gifts. For the event Mrs. Nahss wore a multi-colored jersey dress with a corsage of white carnations flecked with gold. . She wore a gold locket in the I shape of a pansy containing the pictures of herself and her husband. Mr. Nahss gave his wife the locket as a wedding gift. It now bears the teeth marks of her children where they cut their first teeth on it. Above the fireplace mantle was their framed marriage certificate as well as their wedding picture, pictures of the house they were married in, the first house they built, and their first home in Ore gon. Pictures of iheir children when they were small and pictures of Iheir children when grown and their fami lies were also displayed. The Nahsses were married June 2, 1910, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Watson, parents of the bride, in Mus kegon, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Nahss have lived in the Rogue River valley most of the past 40 years, having spent about four years at San Bernardino, Calif. Mr. Nahss is an ordained Christian minister and both of them have been active in churches since they were mar ried. Mr. Nahss has preacned in churches in the Rogue val ley and in California since coming to Oregon. NEW BY PROCTOR! Central at 10th Phone SP 2-5201 Court Has Exhibit of Flowers A flower show directed by Mrs. Richard Mayfield was the highlight of a meeting o Roxy Ann court, Order of the Amaranth, Thursday, June 16, at the Masonic hall. Mrs. Frank Salyers, and Marshall Day, royal matron and patron, presided. Mrs. L. G. Frink, Hal Bish op and Charles Hoppe were judges for the show. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Frank Little, Mrs. Lawrence Mcssal, Mrs. Joseph Jacques, Grants Pass, and Mrs. Mayfield. The group voted to hold the next regular meeting in Sep tember. Mrs. Salyers reported on the official visit of the grand officers June 11 and the official breakfast which fol lowed June 12. She announced that the grand court officers will hold a meeting of instructions for Amaranth courts of Southern Oregon early in September. Plans were made for the annual outdoor breakfast to be held Sunday, July 10, at the Charles Hoppe home, Lo zicr lane, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Associate royal patron and matron, Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Swing, are In charge. Invitations have been sent to Amaranth members, Masonic friends and guests. Plans were also discussed for the annual Amaranth Southern Oregon picnic held the third Sunday of August each year at the south end of Diamond lake, This year the event, will be August 21 and members, Masonic friends and guests are invited. The court also plans a rum mage sale for early Septem ber and persons having rum mage may contact Mrs. Swing or Mrs. Salyers during the summer. Mrs. Mayfield was chair man of the committee which served refreshments follow ing the meeting. Picnic Given By Study Club At Root Home Members of Travel Study club, Oregon Federation of Women's clubs, entertained their families at a potluck dinner held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Root, 3621 Jacksonville highway, June 17. The tables were set on the lawn, and decorated with arrangements of wild sweet peas. I Thirty-four members and! guests attended. Guests of the club were Mrs. Ralph Foster, second vice president of First Dis-1 trict, and president of Ash land Civic club; Mrs. Mac Russell, past treasurer of First I district; Mrs. Hazel Dickson, ! Mrs. Nina Chandler and George Whitmore, in addition to husbands and children of members. Clay M. Lee presented a 50 star flag to the club, in honor of his wife, Mrs. Lee, retiring president of the club and president of First District. Two paintings by Mrs. Thomas C. Reid were award ed to Mrs. Ray Glidewcll. Several selections on the banjo and violin were given by Mr. Root, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Root. Group singing was led by Mr. Thom as Reid. Travel Study club has sus pended meetings for the sum mer, and will hold their next meeting September 27, at the Girl's Community club in the Fireplace room at 1 p.m. Medford Pair Speak For Gold Hill Group Gold Hill - Mrs. M. A. Adams from the Church of Christ, Central Point, was guest speaker at the last meet ing of the Golden Circle, Women's group of the Gold Hill Christian church. Mrs. Adams spoke on missionary programs and materials. Mrs. Wallace N e e c e, Lampman road, was hostess for the meet ing. John Heberling, minister of the Central Avenue Church of Christ, Medford gave a de votional talk and Mrs. Clar ence Freeman, president of the group conducted the busi ness session. Nevita Chapter Plans Ceremony Central Point Nevita chap ter, Order of Eastern Star, will hold open installation for new officers Thursday, June 30, at 8 p.m. in the Masonic temple, Central Point. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Snook will be Installed worthy ma tron and patron, Nevita chapter will hold the last stated meeting of the fiscal year Tuesday. June 28, at 8 p.m. In the temple.
